Game log

When looking at the game log, is it possible to put the offensive play NEXT to the defensive play, rather than having them overlap? It's really hard to see the plays in the overlapping format. I would like to be able to see the visualization of each play, then watch the play develop.

Also, since I've started seriously watching the games, I've noticed that there are often wide open players right down the middle of the field. Basically right in front of the QB, and he doesn't even bother throwing to them, but instead to a double covered WR. I know my QB doesn't have the best Field of Vision and all, but is it possible to either show the progression on the play visualization or show where the QB is looking in the game so we can see his progression? Also, is there a way we can affect the progression of a particular play? There is a short pass play in the 5WR formation where one of the WRs does a short crossing route, and he never seems to be covered, but he is also never thrown to. It is a short pass play so the QB should be looking at short routes first, from my understanding of the game. But, like I said, he continues to throw to a doubled guy rather than the wide open guy. Very frustrating to watch.

There are a good list of updates to the game planning system in queue, including giving you control of the QB's read progression. The QB's logic currently goes through his read progression (which is defined via an algorithm based on route distance and depth chart depth), and then when a player gets to the part of his route where he should be thrown to the QB makes a decision whether to throw it to him. He does have logic to throw to a more open receiver within his field of view, but there is a lot of randomness as to who he will choose to throw to, influenced heavily by his experience and fatigue.

The game log play is more to give you kind of an overview of how the offensive and defensive plays interact which is why they are overlayed - but you can see the individual plays by clicking on them and opening up their cards.

I can see how the plays interact by watching the play run its course. But I can't see what each play is supposed to be in comparison to each other with them overlapped.

QB logic is probably one of the problems that others are complaining about based on the TEs getting too many receptions. I personally believe this has to do with play selection and the play calling... but I don't know all the intricacies of the game to know for sure. Anyway, it would be nice to see what the QB is doing, and be able to "coach" him to run the play the way you want the play run.
