So I have been around for a few seasons and from the start I have had this question.
Why is it that only about 2 handfuls of offensive plays work? We all know about those B&B plays from the spread and I formation, but there are so many other interesting looking plays.......that never work. I get that much of it depends on familiarity, but does it really? Those B&B plays also work pretty well even if your familiarity is low on them. The same goes for many of the plays where your familiarity is at 100. Many of those plays do not work very well on the average.
I am just wishing in the future that the playbooks will really open up for all of us. I mean let's face it, we can try new plays all we want in the pre and regular season, but most owners head to the playoffs armed with most or all of the B&B plays.
It would be fun to try new plays and strategies, and have them actually work sometimes.
