Sitting players, any negatives?

There is a fair chance one of my teams is going to lock up the #1 seed with 2 or 3 games to go in the season. That could potentially give some of my studs 4 games off, 3 plus a bye.

Aside from potentially losing some conditioning, any negatives to doing this? Do players get rusty? :) I just want to avoid injury more than anything

I have never noticed a player to be rusty after a couple games off. They will just lose some conditioning the more they sit. 1-2 games wouldn't hurt too bad. 3-4 games plus a bye week for playoffs might be a bit much. You might give a little more time to the players with those 3-4 game injuries to make sure they are ready for playoffs. Just keep an eye on their conditioning (on player card) after every game.

If you are talking about your Chicago team in MFN-20, please sit all starters this week. You are playing my New Orleans team and I need a win! ;)

I am :) unfortunately I don't plan on sitting anyone until the #1 is locked up. You came at me just 1 week too soon! GL!

I don't like to sit them more than 1 game. Sometimes I'll just put them in a backup roll so they get some reps.

I am concerned if the conditioning drops too low, they ended up more likely to be injured.

You can leave them active and bury them in the depth chart, I believe they keep their conditioning even if they don't play if they are active.
