What decides this?

When you apply to take over a contract from a cut player, we cannot adjust the money bar. So who or what decides which team gets them?

it should be the team with the worst record to the team with the best record

i think you are talking about Elite Football League

link = https://theefl.myfootballnow.com/

And considering your in 2026 preseason the wavier wire goes by the records of teams from 2025 .

Basically your team Parlor City Phantoms went 1-15 last season which is the worst record of the league so you should have 1st chance at getting the player then it will go thru every team all the way to Tallahassee Talons who went 16-0 last season which is the best record of the league and if player doesnt get claimed then he goes to the free agency market

If he gets claimed then game will pick the team worst record from last season and then he should be on that team.

A couple clarifications:
If you claim a player, then you go to the back of the line for the next player.
The waiver claim order only goes by last season's records through Week 8. Then it goes by this season's records.

I believe that I read from someone else that it goes by last season's record until the regular season starts and then it uses the preseason records. Not 100% sure if this is true.

Also, to add to the part about moving to the back of the line after a player is claimed by your team, that is true. I think that your "top priority" waiver claim is the player with the lowest ratings out of the ones that you are claiming. So let's say that you have the worst record from the previous season and are first in line for waivers, your claim will be accepted for the player you claimed with the lowest ratings.

I have never, ever heard that. In fact, what you are saying is blatantly false.

According to JDB:

Until the halfway point in the season, the previous season is used to consider the teams for the waiver wire order. So if you had a very good season last year and/or the other team had a very bad season last year, you'll be lower on the waiver wire priority list than they will be. Also, if you are awarded a claim, you go to the end of the list (so if only you and the #1 team place a claim on two different players, you would get one and the other team would get the other) Not sure which of those might be the reason you didn't get the claim you were shooting for.

If it is the first season of a league (same thread):
Ah, first season the waiver wire is more or less random until the halfway mark of the season.

My statement was not blatantly false. I said I read it on a thread, which I did. And blatantly means open and unashamed. I did not state it as fact, but instead stated my uncertainty. But punisher stated that it was based on preseason as well in the thread "Waiver Priority".

I meant patently (clearly), not blatently. My apologies. I have no idea why punisher would say that, as he surely has read JDB's explanation.

Do you think it's true that they start with the lowest rates players and move through the waiver claims that way? I would think it would be much more fair for teams with bad records for it to start from the highest.

I have never read a definitive clarification from the admin about the order in which players are processed. I checked a dozen pages of forum posts and did not find it there either. Sorry I couldn't get confirmation on that.

The order that players get processed through the waiver wire is undefined, so it's more or less random.
