I play the ratings. Each injury is designated to an area of the body. Pending how bad each category is effecting play per positions demands . A rb will be more effectively neutered if he has a leg and or ankle injury that puts him at a field speed below what your scheme requires.
Each body part can reduce the players relevant ratings 25% if they are at zero . A low number in any body will put him in at least a doubtful label.
Imo this is where it get interesting . A 100 speed back with 2 injuries at 50 to his leg and ankle will now have 75 speed. Idk is that still effective ? Most likely not but if it s the big game and your back up only has 70 speed healthy ....I would go with the injured guy, but might limit his snaps .
Another possibility is an LG hurts those same two body parts, but he has 10 speed. Calculating ....now he has 8 speed. Not a big deal in my offensive scheme...it wouldn't matter at any speed really unless my back up was better/healthier. If if we're his hand or neck I would sit that same player ....pending his matchup (Dt) for that game...but I consider a few other things as well.
I had a TE who was severely injured 3 or 4 times and had 5 or 6 other ones in 1 and half seasons of play .. but......he only missed 2 games. I played him till he could walk. ......here comes another layer.... the next season he was still injured. There wasn't enough off season to completelyheal him.
As one injury happens and the player is played there is an increased chance of another injury. So pending on the players particular in game demands , his age, how quickly he is healing, and another is his conditioning as that moderates injuries too. This kind of creates an injury prone label for certain over used and under healed players.
Say I get an elite boomer in the draft and he gets hurt in pre-season game one....almost every time he sits until his body parts are completely healed. Not when the game labels him as healthy . ..when his body part is 100. As I don't want a serious injury this early in his career
If it were the regular season and I needed a win I might play this guy....or if he were a qb (they don't get injuries as much) same, but I save that risk if it is a contract renegotiation year or if he has chance to retire coming up. Just trying to prevent that injury prone label if I have to pay alot to retain him. Or help boost unseen trade value, but thats not directly effectived as injuries are random..?.?.
That TE was in his 12th year and I knew I would get him for the league minimum next season so who cares . But my elite booming 2 yr wr suffered alot less injuries sat plenty in comparison . Say that wr was in his 8th or 9th season he be playing more while injured.
I not saying to ignore the labels , but I see them then check what body was actually injuried . Parabolizing ratings has created more chances for injuries so this layer of the game has recently become more important . The safe bet is to have some depth anyway, cause the players fatigue levels moderate injuries as well.
In the nfl these label are required to be put on all player who were said to be injured . Sometimes Teams will paint a loose picture of what actually happened to the player in order to throw off opponents . Its i llegal but bending the truth in the nfl is ok at times till you get caught.
But most guys are playing with some type of injury at all times but not receive a label. We here get to see those kicked up players to the detail. So probable and questionable are interchangable to me . Like a no label here, but he's an 88 at neck, that almost questionable pending on my team/situation . Definitely closer to a probable imo.
No label, but still slightly injured - be careful here...theyou are not fully healed yet
Probable- like a no label injury to me , but I depends on demands , game, age
Questionable -this is where I highly consider sitting younger players but not old, same for individual matchups it depends
Doubtful - I play guys here rarely , but watch this will get labeled as a concussion , but the guy will be unable to play . ...Possibly resetting game plans if you play this guy in the playoffs with much worse results .
Out- these guys sometimes heal quicker than the designated time frame. I like to give a game or two rested before I put them on the ir if it is later in the season to see if they might be able to come back healthy enough to contribute before the seasons end.
