So I was playing around in a new league to see what waiver wire pickups I wanted and what sort of cap gymnastics I might have to do to get them to fit. The team screen says I have $1.28 million in available cap. But if I click on a QB whose salary to pick up as a free agent would be $1.04 million, it says on the Make Waiver Wire Claim screen that my available cap space if I file the claim would be (-$506,000).
I have no pending contracts. I've made no other claims during this cycle.
What would be accounting for a roughly $700K difference between the value on my team screen and the free agency claim screen? I've seen it do this before on the renegotiation wizard window where the cap room available and the team screen cap numbers differ, but never on the waiver wire screen...is there something obvious that I'm overlooking in my sleep-deprived state of mind?
