Hey.
The post in General about Punisher's safety lining up at DT and stripsacking the QB, while primarily good at Run D, tackling and acceleration, reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask;
Is run defense and pass rush stat primarily different ways to box with the OL man?
This guy:
https://ags.myfootballnow.com/player/467is currently leading my league in sacks (11) and pressures (34), while primarily being a run defense end. My other RDE (also run stuffing) is 2nd on my team with 7 sacks. Nobody on my team comes even close to his pressures and he's 50% above number 2 (22) in the league.
So instead of thinking of it as pass rush and run defense, is it more like what moves they use? Or is it simply that most people in my league are using pass block heavy left tackles, so his run moves obliterates them... or?
In an attempt to see what's really doing the trick (position or skills), I've tried moving my #2 guy to the left side and some of my left side pass rushers to the right side.
Edit: This last game, my RDE2 had two sacks as LDE.
