I jumped on a team that has serious cap problems. Have to get the current year in order first so everyone is on the block to help clear the space now, then was gonna start working on the future years.(which being able to see your cap 6 yrs in advance would be a good thing)
The game canceled a trade that involved one of this teams players for future picks, saying it was 'canceled due to cap room". Understand that this team is over the cap the next year as well which is why Im guessing that it canceled the trade as draft picks will cost cap money eventually.
My question is that shouldn't the game only cancel trades because of cap in the current year and not future years? Reason Im stating this is because a GM would still have time in the current year and up until the next years draft to parlay those picks for other picks further in the future again, thus being able to work on the cap situation but still give that franchise a chance to compete in the near future.
With the way the logic is set now I have to out right release everybody with nothing in return which will set that franchise in the hole much longer otherwise.
Can you guys give me your take on this as I might be missing something with the big picture sort of speak.
