Re: 230 and the Attack defense

The 230 is a run only attack and the Attack#1-3 defenses seem fairly effective aganst it all things being equal.

I have played against teams that use just 2 of these def plays and some that just use the one, now all are blitzes (correct?) so should acumulate overruse penaties if used repeatedly (over 3?)

Perhaps because 230 is limited to runs - but am I wrong in perceiving that the D isn't really penalised for overruse in this situation? - looking at several cases I cant see any glaring increase in yards and the play holds up pretty well.

Happy to stand corrected - or even happier to be schooled in how you can take advantage of this situation - it feels like it should be open to it! Have thought of completely overloading the offense - but just feels like its a route to 3 and out repeatedly...

Casual query - interested in your thoughts... :-)

You don't accumulate overuse penalties using a GL blitz defense against a GL offense. The play-by-play text will show this occasionally, but that you should not be getting an actual penalty for it.
