Just found and started watching a documentary on Amazon Prime about EA developing Madden football into the juggernaut monster that it is. Figured members of this community would be interested in it. I particularly found it cool when one of the new hires they brought to the studio in the 90’s were hired as interns off the street based on their interest and enthusiasm for the game. The developers literally just played the game against candidates in the interview, and this one guy just started absolutely crushing the programmer. He went to punt and the kid told him, you know I can block every kick in the game. Developer said no you can’t, we fixed that. Well, kid subbed fastest player he had in at DE and smothered him. Sound familiar?
