Moving coaches around...

Why can't we reassign coaches if we want them to handle a different coaching position? Like if I wanted to have my Secondary coach assume Linebacker coach role .It just seems we should be able to move them around if you feel there is a benefit. It would be similar to changing a players position.

You can 'hire' them at any point to a new position on your staff, but it will cut the current position coach at the spot you're moving them, unless you also offer them a contract for a different position and so on.

I've never tried this before, have you? Does it work reliably?

Can I offer my LB coach the Secondary position, and the Secondary coach the LB position, and have them basically swap positions?

One catch is that you can't do this if you've resigned the coach that season already, such as in FA 1 to prevent someone else from poaching them.

The only thing I've done internally is promote a DC to HC and poach a DC all in the same sim .. lol

You can do that, but you can only do it once per season because players will only accept one contact per season.

I think you should be able to swap position coaches within your own team at any time without having to redo contracts.

I don't know if its a part of the contract bug I had or not; but, I can offer my TE coach a LB position for the same contract. I don't know if it works vice versa (wanting to swap them or not).

As long as the coach you wanted to move hasn't "reupped" for that current position that same year, it should be a straightforward contract offer.
