I would say to all your concerns is maybe post in this thread = https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/forums/6/1890?page=1#11255

maybe he would see them there

or PM JDB and maybe he would answer your concerns

So he wont see responses to a thread he started about an UPDATE? I think you underestimate he dedication to his own game. I try not to PM JDB unless there is no other option because he is busy.

He will answer in time......or not.

My concerns are limited but need to be addressed. A league admin changing the injury settings week to week could seriously effect the competitive balance of a league so something needs to made available to everyone so the injury rate is transparent.

I agree, an automatic message about injury rate changes like the auto trade messages would be enough

Yes, especially when you have comments earlier in the thread expressing tehehe 'turn it up' ...it's not a far fetched concept for a drunk with power admin on a toggle mission. lol

Wasnt underestimate his dedication ......If anything giving people another way to have their concerns answered if he doesnt reply in this thread i gave another thread where they could reply in with their concerns and i would think people know to PM him so i think i have everything covered .

Unless of course someone would like to make a thread for their concerns for this NOT that it is necessary to do that just giving them another option or IDEA to reach JDB because like you said he is BUSY even when you send him a message it even says he been forced to be less responsive to PM's so i was trying to help considering that little fact .

also dont think it is bad thing if lets say i had a concern about this i know of 2 threads i could post in with that concern and on top of that i could even send him that concern in a PM so i would think having more ways to have him see it would give me greater chances of him replying back or at least thats what i think.

So you can post in a different thread, start a new thread or PM JDB.

Thanks for the help

The way I see it, since this is something that a league owner has complete control over I don't see a reason to restrict when or how often a league owner can change this setting. If you own a league, it is up to you to communicate how you want to. If you don't communicate, your league is going to die, with this option or any other aspect. With great power comes great responsibility ... and you paid for the right to create a league, so if you want to ostracize your team owners by playing unfair, that's your own money you're flushing down the toilet.

All auto-generated leagues will not and can not have this setting changed. This only applies to human-owned leagues.

So you only care about the paying league owners, and not the those of us having the fun of the game taken away because of a crazy league owner? You just give the owners mandate to completely ruin the game for the rest of us? - If new (or older) managers encounter this issue, they will leave MFN right away, and without them you wont have paying league owners. Its not a good business model IMO.

well i would think games only care about people who pay because without them there would be no games and those games probably would not be FREE for the most part.
it would be nice if he would make it where people who dont pay would get something maybe where people who PAY dont.

he should have worded it differently or not said in a way where it sounds like he gives them that power.

I would imagine you would have the game die faster if new and/or older manages decide to leave the game especially they pay for things because without them game would be either NO MORE or it wouldnt be FREE .

I completely disagree with your first statement. If you only care about the paying users in a game like this, it will die! If you were considering to pay for a league, would you do so if there were no active users to join the league? Of course not. You are complete dependent on the large mass of users not paying, without them you don’t have paying users.

Saying that they paid so they can do whatever is a shitty attitude to be honest, when others invest a lot of time and effort in those leagues as well.

Mollow, just because league owners can pull a **** move doesn't mean they will.

You'd have to be pretty stupid to try and manipulate a setting like this for your own benefit, it's a surefire way to lose owners who are not exactly easy to come by.

A simple solution would be to add the current injury rate into the league header, so everyone is aware of what's happening. That way if a joker-league admin decided to fiddle with it constantly, all the owners would know.

As a league admin for 5 current leagues, I have the power to decide who joins the league, change the amount of preseason games, the number of free agency and late free agency weeks plus allow unbalanced trades or use non database names.

I inform all the owners of the parameters set and they are easily confirmed by the owners. I guarantee EVERY owner would want transparency when it comes to the injury rate. Your arguement for not making it transparent isnt as strong as the arguement to make it transparent. The only difference is you have to make a change to make it transparent while not making it transparent means doing nothing.

I have integrity and have no problem with it as is because I will enact my own restrictions to changing the injury rate but unless you can come up with a logically reason why it shouldnt be transparent to all then it's just a matter of not wanting to address the issue.

Look at it logically

Transparency

UPSIDE

Every owners knows the injury rate at all times and when the admin has made any changes. New owners wishing to join leagues can see which leagues are using what injury rates. League admins being accused of tampering with the injury rates everytime someone sustains a serious injury will never happen.

DOWNSIDE

JDB needs to apply some sort of fix

No transparency

UPSIDE

JDB doesnt have to do anything

DOWNSIDE

Owners will be blind to the injury rate and after any significant injury, suspicious and accusations may form and grow. An example of how it could be manipulated by a less then honest admin. The admins team secures a bye in the playoffs so he raises the injury rate to 200 for the Wildcard round in hopes of devasting his competetion while his team rest. The opposite of that is an honest admin gets a bye and a team playing in the wildcard round sustains a serious injury or 2...even though the admin did nothing wrong....an owner could come to think he adjusted the injury rate.

It's only logical to make it transparnet....many benefits....no downside
