Your correct in a general assessment but 4000 yards has been reached and 20 pass tds is easier than you think. I can almost have that 20 guaranteed each season. And that’s still with a top 10 rushing attack.... the problem there is my team is not geared ( ratings wise) to run the ball.... same as our rush defense....were top ranked but the run defense ratings and possibly the tackle rating we have doesn’t warrant these numbers. It’s scheme driven cause KR numbers are through the roof too



I haven't really looked at KR numbers, I would guess a lot of teams are still throwing speedy lightweight players to try to get a Punt Block. This then means the returner can barge through the weak defense.

Yeah, 4000 yards has been reached....ONCE in the last 12 seasons (3 seasons/4 leagues) using Beta.

In the NFL over half the league had a 4000 yard passer....18 QBs in 2020.

Look, I would love to have a new version that improves the game but BETA isn't their yet. I create side rules to close some exploits and get better results.

All I know is when 4.4 came out which eliminated the long passing and passing overall and sacks went through the roof...we lost a ton of owners and this sim was on the edge of extinction.

People are fed up with 4.5 and many league admins have adopted creative rules to fix it. The problem is JDB isn't actively fixing BETA as he concentrates on the U.I.

He needs to fix the passing game. Here is the passing leaders over the last 3 seasons in the Francise Football League.







Yes, 4.5 has many 4000 and 5000 yard passers so it's off too but we have to meet somewhere in the middle...when that happens...I'm 100% in!

Franchise is a bad example as the AI is calling plays. Based on their settings, which I am guessing, passing should be low. My passing head coach runs it a lot... I guess cause we’re winning. .

Same as a semi active league with elite owners and AI ones as garnering a lot of talent and using the codes effective plays should produce large numbers at times.

But the best of the best in a super active league in a big game should be the real measure for beta testing . Tough to find but admirals leagues are the closest thing and sacks go way down. It’s really just that deep ball to the primary target. We had one guy run 75% flies all championship game .....zero targets and the DB was sub par to say the least .

Even the release of 4.5 had the same effect....guys complaining about getting the wr1 yards. For sure its worse now. At least with those bombs. All that said jdb did say , In the poll thread , something to the tune of “ without any significant changes “ .....so imo if passing was made a bit easier sooner than later with a new minor change I would call for a release of 4.6.

But once again with a minor change that would push at least a dozen above average owners being able to hit 4000 + plus yards and 30 + tds.

I'm just not seeing it in BETA leagues right now....If he can get passing improved then I'm all for a change.

I don't see the issue now, everyone can use 4.5 or BETA so what's the problem...if BETA becomes 4.6 then we have no choice right?

I'm ready for a change if it's better but I'm not changing for change sake is all I'm saying...If JDB believed in BETA then he makes it 4.6 and no questions asked but he is working on the interface and not actively working changes to BETA.

At least now we have options which is fine...he addresses passing and opens it up some more and it's a go!

I think cjfred's example was good enough. I also play in Franchise Football as well as in another RO league (National Collegiate Athletic Association Football).
Compared there are 1000 more passing yards and 10 more passing TDs in 0.45 than BETA.

Jdb runs seasons with the code and if the stats fit it’s a measure. He can use the current gameplans of real users and get numbers as well but the AI will never be as good as a human who can alter stuff and read an opponents possible game plan . That’s all my point is. We get much higher and lower stats than a cookie cutter AI match. And sure beta favors the defense that’s clear. Still why post RO stats.....cause passing is super low.... to prove your point. Well my stats are on the lower end of the NFL s but much more respectable that the ROs super low pass stats. Just to prove my point. Which is if more active users played beta they would eventually produce better stats.....just like the general release of 4.5 when offenses were said to be 30% lower than 4.4. We adjust per code cause the desire to win. 4.5 we beta tested and changed codes a lot more than 4.6 and still missed the punt block /46 bug. But eventually users found a way to put numbers up. The AI will never do that. That’s it. **** 4.3 had low AI numbers too but I could pass for 1200 yards and 12 tds in one game. Pick off 6 passes and sack them 12 times all in one game.... it is no measure til a human gets in there. Two good humans. As the code gets tighter the AI should produce better stats. Though. Are we there yet no

That about says it all. LOL Confirming what I already knew.

When Elite (I believe that was the league name) League was created and all the great minds assembled JDB was on that fact finding mission spending DAYS on the league chat during the dispersal draft. (easy to peer into our utilized plays on both sides of the ball)

I didn't like that.

He gets a measure to go by but I remember him using AI a lot more as our plans didn’t suffice cause we scout different and mix up play strategies per opponent. As stats were inflated/ deflated one way or another. It was pre 4.4 so more offense plays work to some extent back then

He posted the statsto compare. I should find the thread.....good luck on that. See if you were in that bunch or not.

Speaking of the draft and conspiracy.....I think he has without outright telling us has tweaked the pregeneration of players ratings. Slightly one way or another to get stats to fit but I guess that tweak would take awhile to be seen. And like I said don’t completely believe it ( as I am not jdb)but that would alter end result stats some.

But for plays vs plays he says there is never really one better than the other, but there is always plays that work better against others. But for a total average no

Drafts itself?

JDB was like 'listen, we need to flush out these 95 through 100 rated overall player' and that became the mission. Every player had 100 vitals maxed on their attributes, therefore, the goal was to amend that. However, we're years and years and years since then (2017?) and he hasn't upped the talent level in drafts again.

All the 95-100 rated players from the year 2017 are retired and he hasn't adjusted drafts to flood the market again with new elites.

Oh yes but in that manner he always and originally made the game to have 90s being elite and rare. Upping the overall talent ....he said it was a mistake and dropped it back down. Still he kept a higher generation of static ratings but not as high and he kept the volatility boost to later drafted players to up skill

I was speaking of something slightly different. In a 4.3 thread ? Back when certain core position ratings were made parabolic in that thread he spoke about upping accuracy In the players generation pre draft. I assumed to counter the new importance due to the parabolic change.

But perhaps that was done to others as well. Kick accuracy? Definitely QBs speed as so many havesub 20 but no one else around 220 pounds has that slow of a rating so often as QBs do.

But again this is conspiracy and I use that word loosely as generally jdb is super open and if you ask the right questions you’ll get the right answers. Maybe I just didn’t ask the right questions and there’s no conspiracy at all
