Absolutely. The way I see it, if I view a player to draft, I base decisions on x,y,z.. To answer this question simply: NO. There is NOT a drop in attributes after drafting a player prior to Training Camp. The change in volatility has only been a RECENT development itself.

As for notifying you personally: check the forum in MFN-1 Beta League or wait until you are surprised by a new development (such as this) and do exactly as you did.....Ask a question and then wait for a response.

If this is not a clear enough answer to your question, pleas feel free to ask it a 3rd time. :)

First off, is checking the MFN-1 forum a place to establish a working of in-game changes ?

Secondly, I'm not overly sure if making words bold do something for you crazyrazor, each to their own I guess. I think you might find that the original poster posted an almost identical situation, a player drafted that gained Vol before training camp....if I'm wrong, happy to be corrected.

Finishing, You, and others, say it is new.....where/when do members/GM's know it is new ? Show me please !

Very different question than the original question and very different question than the one you were requesting an answer for.

Yet again, a very different question than the original question and very different question than the one you were requesting an answer for.

Bold words make an attempt to get the point across. The point being that your question AND the original question has been answered at least 3 times already. Understand?

**I will refer you to a previous post about when it was discovered (in this very thread), and JDB's response to this (again in this very thread). Perhaps you should reread the post and refresh your memory concerning the comments that other members made trying to help you and everyone else understand this occurance.**

It wasn't discovered in MFN-1. It was discovered in NCAA during the most recent draft we had. This draft was the first for our league under the new code. I'll even help you by refering you back to that comment:
Bryson10 wrote:
Yes vol does change after a player is drafted, we have many owners who tracked it in NCAA and it got to the point that i wrote JDB about it. Here was his response

hey jdb i have a question for ya. Our draft started today in ncaa nad the first pick overall had a 0 vol in the draft pool and when the team drafted him his vol went up to 2. Is this something that happens often? Never seen it before so i thought i'd ask ya. thanks

I think it was with this newest release that volatility is slightly masked, and increases as you go deeper into the selections, to increase the likelihood of late round booms. I didn't think it would impact the first round picks but there is not much of a difference between 0 and 2, as you get into later rounds you'll see higher volatility scores getting applied. (The application is random as well but the range of movement is based on the draft round)

Here is another instance where the question was answered:
lellow2011 wrote:
Vol goes up for each round that a player isn't drafted.

And finally, an example of the possibility and likelihood that you can find most things, but not all, in the beta forums:
setherick wrote:
I would need to dig through a year of forum posts in beta, but that's not how I remember Volatility and late round picks ever being described in beta testing, but it also would be the first time that something has been not fully described.

Here is your question:
Kababmaster wrote:
What other attributes drop once you pick a player ?

and here is the answer to that question in this post:
Bryson10 wrote:
Nothing changes but vol until training camp

Did you see that? You missed it the first time he posted it. Nothing changes except volatility until Training Camp. I will state it differently: Volatility is the ONLY attribute that changes before Training Camp.

I do hope this helps you and I hope you enjoy my bold and italicized words. :)

CrazyRazor, I could handsomely dance over your post if I decided to put energy into it, but I'm just looking for answers, and MFN-1 is not going to bring them anytime soon....I'm struggling with the concept of some knowing what happens vs a rookie/noob who does not.

I'll ask the same question again. Why is Vol subject to drop/gain AFTER a draft pick....prior to training camp, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, where can noobs/others find these documented
changes on a par ?.......and yes, this was alluded to in the original posters Q.

Kababmaster, I believe your questions were answered in full short of JDB himself coming on this thread and confirming that the volatility changes as the draft progresses. (rising with each round)

I'm not crazy about it because I prefer low volatility (sure bet players) to add to my roster, therefore, the higher the volatility the worst it is for that strategy. Though, I will say pretty much when it comes to volatility you're only going to get useless players if you high end the volatility (80+ but primarily those 90+ guys) ....will bottom to nothingness if they bust.

Why am I not surprised that you have come up with yet another question? Go back through this post. The answers are there. If you simply do not like the answers and prefer different answers, I truly don't know what to say. PLEASE, Feel free to peruse the Help menus, the Community & League Forums, Official Blog, and Roadmap. Perhaps they will reveal the answers you seek. If they do not, you could ask JDB himself via Private Message. Perhaps he could shed light on your darkness. I'm done answering your redundant questions yes there was more than one and they were all answered (despite you saying you had one question that was unanswered). :)

P.S. Dance Away!!! I Don't Mind At All!!! I'm Entertained Quite Easily As You Can See!!!

Surprise the **** out of yourself son ! Fact remains, yes a question was answered but with no documented fact or guidance for others to know this! Are you ignorant on this, or just plain stupid toward the logic ?

Nuff said !

Volatility does have an adjustment after you draft a player with later rounds having greater movement. Why? Because in the later rounds you -want- high volatility players, otherwise they are worthless if you have a league with people who are making good draft decisions. The reason this was added is to add value to a player later in the draft. The volatility was added to increase the likelihood of "booms" in later rounds, but once the good players are gone then all the high volatility players go next, and by round 4 or 5 you literally have nothing left to choose from. Like everything else, it is random, and is intended to simulate the fact that no one is exactly as they seem, especially once you get past the first couple of rounds.

The obvious issue with this is that well, strength and speed stay relatively the same sans weight changes in either direction, therefore, elevating volatility to get more booms won't mean anything on a lot of players whom have locked in poor ratings in speed and/or strength dependent on position.

Another thing you will notice in drafts that are generated after leagues roll to 0.4.3 is that players are generated with better key physical attributes than before. You will see significantly less 20 speed DBs, 15 strength OL, etc. This, combined with the late round VOL adjustments is making late round picks much more interesting. You're still not going to find superstars, but they are certainly a lot more useful players.
