SLB and WLB

Sam (in the real world) lines up over TE which is considered strong side.
When, why and when does SLB play weak side LB in this game?

I'm tired of getting burnt because my best LB is on the wrong side of the field.
Although the SLB (in this example) made the INT, he's still on the weak side on this play.
He only plays SLB on the depth chart also. I see this also in other leagues.

I'd say possibly a low fatigue setting ... but it was early in the game. <Puzzlement> Maybe that defensive play has the positions reversed?

The play does...but in general zone does not follow strong and weak side rules anyway

it makes no sense at all.

He is playing SLB according to the csv and he is clearly playing on the weak side.
Imo this is a bug and I absolutely want to define which of my LBs coveres the Slot WR if I play a 3-4 against 11 personnel.

Did you try to contact jdb?

Zone has alot of issues beyond pre snap alignments. He knows, Beta last version had updates for zone that have been put on the back burner by punt blocks and pass blocking.

The plays act and line up accordingly to the play cards, but when they match up vs. actual plays rarely does the underneath zone act like the nfls. A man under scheme is much more like the nfl

I've noticed this with my other teams too. No, I didn't notify jdb.
Wasn't sure if it was a bug or something I was doing wrong.

I've played a lot of irl football and it seems there are different definitions of Sam, Mike, and Will depending on your coach. I've played under all of the following terminologies:
1. The offensive formation (side of the TE or FB) = the strong side. (this one makes the most sense)
2. The ball placement on the hash marks determine strong side vs weak. The strong side is the shorter side of the field and the weak side is longer. (this one allowed us to make better coverage adjustments) (my favorite because I played mostly safety)
3. There is no strong side, only left and right.

In terms of MFN usage:

MLB - Patrolling, coverage. Set in the middle of the defensive formation.
WLB - Various roles based on formation. Patrolling/coverage + also heavy blitzer.
SLB - Closest to representing as another defensive lineman/run stopper. Additional/supplemental coverage supporter to the back end targets.

That's game wise. Football wise, I'm not deep into the science of x's and o's.

What about Offense.

I'm assuming it's based on which side the TE and/or FB line up. In general, the TE lines up alongside the RT? making that the Strong side, hence the added importance of having a stellar LT as he (generally) lines up as the 'outside' edge with no TE help.

One final question, does an SLB line up against the RT, the LT or is that dependant on the Offensive formation? ie he'll always line up against the strong side of the OL (whenever their is one)
