Yeah I get that as well, what I'm saying is that some aspects of the game should be left as 'go find and seek', I love finding nuggets in PR/KR/Gunners, sterilising the game takes this away.

Ah, gotcha. I'm good with being able to quickly do the math in my head to determine how good a returner or gunner is too. :)

People rely WAAAY to much on the ratings and not the overall build and performance. I've had returners not reach potential until their 2nd or 3rd seasons, its not simply plug and play, although you can strike it lucky though.

Oddly enough, I've had success with plug and plan returners and returners that have no kick catching ability: https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/4492

I think this says more about the condition of PRs than it does about my ability as a GM.

Have you noticed a strong correlation in KC and AC off a punt? I have a guy that has bad ball carry, but he has 99 KC and decent AC. He doesn't have Bryant's high end speed, but few do. I haven't tried to see if he'll out perform Bryant, but I've been tempted.

Kick catching used to really matter. Even guys with 99 would **** punts here and there. I liked it that way. Now anyone can KR and I have not seen a muffed punt in a while. If more guys were a liability back there there would be less of a chance that all the stars with low kick catching would be kick and punt returners. Making that aspect of the game a little harder.

I still see a muffed punt about every other game (not always a turnover), so I still take kick catching into consideration for my PR man.
