Quarterback decisions

One thing that I think needs to be fixed is the QB decision making. Too many times I have a slot WR or TE running a square in and their WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field for an easy 7-10 yard gain, instead the QB throws up top to a WR double or triple covered for an incomplete or INT(usually picked). It's getting very frustrating.

This is something that we've actively been testing in MFN-1. It's one of the things that has gotten the least criticism too. I hope that JDB will roll it out before rolling out all of v.4.1, but I doubt it.

Nothing different except the blitz reads in mfn one. This is not being tested at all. Routinely the QB does the same ****. 5 wide open and he's tosses it up to the covered guy has happened at least 2 to 5 times a game...l.mostly vs zones

I'm going to call BS on this. Run to the sideline sacks have been almost completely eliminated, and the ones that happen now are because the QB is legitimately chased down. QBs are keying two separate WRs now, which I've seen be effective on a number of passing downs. The QBs keys are restricted to the route the WR is running, so you might want to check the routes on the plays you're calling. I have the best success when I only have two receivers running the route distance for the call (two short routes on a short pass, etc.). In those times, you can see the QB read both. The times I've run into QBs throwing into double coverage is when I have multiple downfield routes. On those times, it looks like the QB is ignoring the underneath routes because, well, that is what he is doing. JDB still hasn't solved that issue yet unfortunately.

Not sure how you are seeing the QB actively read a guy.

But I do have an idea about that.

I would love, in the Replay, for the Target the QB is currently reading to be hi-lighted in some way, and we could literally see his progression.

If he's running for his life not looking down field, no one would be Targeted, but as soon as he's clear enough to look downfield it would 'spot' the guy for us, and continue as he went from Target to Target.

****, I'd like an Assignment Key, really. Pre-Snap (where we can also Pause) it would show who each guy is designated to block (in Run Blocking) and would shoe the Defensive Assignments.

In the code we've been testing, you can see the QB sprite look between the two receivers. In the other leagues, he just looks straight ahead.

The best QBS don't have to be looking at a guy to know he's open. There is something called peripheral vision and just knowing where a wr is going to be.

Now we have robots that don't act like qbs, but at least they look at other recivers ?

I would rather see the sprite moving through the read progression than have to guess if he does anything at all. The defensive sprites aren't following the QBs eyes as far as I know anyway. I assume that the lookoff attribute is only applied at the time of catch.

I think look off is in effect at the start of the play. As I have seen elite cover guys run the wrong way right from the snap. Like they are sprint to the wrong zone.....when this happened my opponents QB had elite look off. But I am not sure......
