    QB-Don Anderson (Texas)7-2
    Year /Team /Att /Comp /Pct /Yds /Yds/Att /Sk/Yd /TDs /Lng /Int /Rat
    2027 /TEX /374 /215 /57.5 /3,107 /8.31 /12/119 /28 /91 /8 /100.64

While Texas boasts a trio of Heisman worthy talents you have to look directly at the captain Don Anderson first. A career backup for most of his career, Anderson has excelled under the new regime that Texas welcomed this season. Anderson is amongst the top throwers in the nation in all significant statistics. Even more impressive is the fact that Texas is leading the vaunted Big 12 after playing third fiddle for so many years prior. If the Longhorns continue to roll expect Anderson to be a finalist for the Heisman award.

    QB-Tanner Mordecai (Oklahoma) 6-3
    Year /Team /Att /Comp /Pct /Yds /Yds/Att /Sk/Yd /TDs /Lng /Int /Rat
    2027/ OU /399 /249 /62.4 /2,962 /7.42 /5/55 /26 /75 /8 /98.39

Mordecai is a rising star that has made significant strides this season. While he is battling Anderson for the division as well as individual accolades he has shown to be very poised for a young player. Some will argue that he has the keys to a rolls royce with the talent around him but he's definitley proving to be the player the Sooners had hoped when they signed him a few years ago.

    QB-Rocky Rothrock (Army) 6-3
    Year /Team /Att /Comp /Pct /Yds /Yds/Att /Sk/Yd /TDs /Lng /Int /Rat
    2027 /ARM /361 /223 /61.8 /2,666 /7.39 /16/153 /21 /83 /8 /94.49

Army has always been a team capable of putting points on the board in bunches. When the team finally found their future QB it was only a matter of time until he took advantage of the culture culminated at the academy. Despite playing in the toughest conference in America, Rothrock continues to shine and his leadership has oozed out of him this season. There's a long road ahead but if somehow the young QB can will this team into a bowl game there's no doubt his name will be among the top players at the end.

    RB-Aleva Hifo (BYU) 8-1
    Year /Team /Att /Yds /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /BYU /196 /851 /4.3 /80 /4

    Year /Team /Rec /Yds /Trgt /Drp /Rec % /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /BYU /38 /370 /45 /1 /84.4 /9.7 /38 /0

Perhaps the biggest surprise in this year's Heisman race has been Hifo. His career numbers to date have always represented more of a supporting role type player but since being inserted into the everydown position Hifo hasn't looked back. Not only has he shown the ability to carry the team in a league with pass happy coordinators, he's doing it for the top team in the nation. Hifo may not overwhelm the stats sheet but he's accountable and reliable. The Cougars wouldn't be where they are without his steady production.

    RB-Stephen Carr (USC) 8-1
    Year /Team /Att /Yds /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /USC /154 /546 /3.5 /26 /6

    Year /Team /Rec /Yds /Trgt /Drp /Rec % /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /USC /59 /647 /72 /4 /81.9 /11.0 /76 /6

Carr got off to a very fast start and if not for an injury to his foot in week 7 he'd probably be putting more distance between himself and other players. Carr has shown his versatility throughout this great 8-1 run for the Trojans. He is piling up all-purpose numbers and providing USC with a gamechanger out of the backfield. His health will certainly dictate if he stays on this list as the season tends to wear on work horse backs in the latter half of the season.

    WR-Thomas Schmidt (Florida) 7-2
    Year /Team /Rec /Yds /Trgt /Drp /Rec % /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /UF /47 /1,078 /69 /6 /68.1 /22.9 /93 /9

Suprisingly teammate and future Hall of Famer Jon Demartini isn't amongst the leaders in passing but one player that has taken off with the precense of a top thrower is wide receiver Thomas Schmidt. Schmidt has been a steady producer in his career but this season he's taking it to another level. The Gators have scratched at the door for many years and this might finally be their chance. If Schmidt continues to produce at the rate he is going they have a real good shot in a very competitive SEC East.

    WR-Frederick Mitchell (Texas) 7-2
    Year / Team /Rec /Yds /Trgt /Drp /Rec % /Avg /Lng /TDs
    2027 /TEX /47 /958 /66 /6 /71.2 /20.4 /91 /12

Mitchell is the former #2 recruit in the 2023 draft class and took the NCAA by storm in his first two seasons. In what looked like a preview for years to come turned out to be a rough two year injury plagued hiccup that saw this top level playmaker really take huge steps back. With the resurgence of Texas football, Mitchell is back to his old ways. His 12 TD's and gamechanging plays are opening the eyes of scouts across the land. Despite his incredible production his campaign may be thwarted by his own teammates taking votes away. Either way Mitchell is playing at a level only a few WR's have played in this current age in MFN.
