GG HC, man I feel bad for you Montes did not have his best game tonight.
Your defense kept us off balance all game, and I was very worried that we were going to let you back into the game with turnovers in the second half. Luckily my defense was on point and swarming all game long to rally up and make tackles on 3rd down.
This is likely gonna be the swan-song for BYU as we’re losing a number of established players in the offseason, and I think Rutgers will be seeing a lot of post-season success in the years to come. Good luck this off-season.
As for Texas and Hines being my date in the finals.....
If you had told me that Ricketts would be held to a sub 65 passer rating and you ran for fewer than 70 yards, I would have anticipated a good shot at a win. If you told me any of my offensive numbers, I would have predicted a massacre lol. Overall, I think the final score was an accurate representation. Defense kept us alive even with the short fields the offense occasionally gave you, but Montes had his road game implosion that he is prone to having. Credit to your Defense though, there was no separation by my receivers down the field leading to these two yard passes, and the few we had open Dupuis botched unfortunately. Our defense can win a championship, but our offense doesn't even deserve the playoffs smh. The best team in the conference is representing us, and it was extremely well deserved. Besides, we would have gotten embarrassed on both sides of the ball by the monster that is Texas so we are saved by that at least lol.
This was probably the weirdest season I've ever had. We looked like a bottom 5 team in the first 6 games of the season, but then looked like a top 5 team the rest of the way up to this one. All in all, a successful season reaching the top 4. We lose a couple key players in Kennedy (the original D-line has finally moved on...) and Offensive linemen, but hopefully we can fix it up in the offseason and get more weapons especially on offense.
Good luck against Texas!
