Anyone understand the waiver wire order?
Somehow we (4-1) lost our waiver claim to a 5-0 team; and I'm sure some of the other 4 teams that had claims denied also had worse records.
Any ideas?

i think it goes by last years record for the first 8 or so weeks but i could be wrong. Something like that though at the beginning of the season

Didn't know that's how it worked here.. thought it was pulled from the 'Power Rankings' or something.
Thanks

I think it officially goes by last year's record, but actually it's random. Some real head scratchers have punctured the party line.

Just keep taking chances and don't complain when (not if) you get screwed.

Also I believe when you win a claim you go to the back of the line.

That's also the party line, used to explain away strange decisions. However, if you make just one claim, you'll actually find that's not true. JDB is banking on the theory that you'd never try claiming just once.

This is the common version of waiver wires in online fantasy leagues. A "rolling list" based on standings.

Absolutely, but I’ve never heard of pulling in last seasons results to set the wire priority list - far as I know, that not how it’s run IRL which is why I asked the Q.

I agree. At most, only week one MIGHT be based on last year's standings.
