Looks like computer has signed crazy contracts .. with players beyond playing age. I am going to release all that I can .. any suggestions or pointers from the long time members in this league ?
Welcome Shavar!
Here's a few pointers (been here since the start):
1. The Draft is the MOST important event each year. Since player movement is restricted (no trades), you will live and die by the draft. We do a live draft over Saturday/Sunday at the end of each season and the CPU will grab terrible players if you aren't avail. At worst you want to be around for rounds 1-3 after that the pickings can get slim (tho diamonds in the rough can be found if you're clever).
2. Gameplanning - You're gonna want to set your gameplan each week (more important for human-controlled teams obv). Not much difference here from standard MFN play.
3. Roster Construction - The CPU really craters the teams that it controls, don't get overwhelmed, it will take a few seasons of drafting to pull yourself out of salary-cap ****. Check the forums for roster restrictions (ie. no players in YR13+ seasons, if you have a player in YR11, you must drop them to be a free agent in YR12 and you are not eligible to pick them back up).
4. Forums - As much as possible, join in to forum discussions, let us all know what's happening with your team. Shout out your good players, playfully-taunt a rival. Most of us have been here a LONG time and get along well with each other.
Dig in, have fun, and beat the **** out of the Gators (they need to be taken down a peg or 2) :)
