So ya i blabbed on for almost three hours covering all the teams last night on facebook live (https://www.facebook.com/TLaw10/videos/10213773919015343/). The two owners without access to the video i decided to type out a review since my voice is shot lol. Here's oklahoma and michigan :)

1-26 WLB Addison Gumbs
Looking to add some depth at the LB position Oklahoma is banking on the stong WLB Gumbs to push for a starting role. Gumbs isn't fast at only 69 speed but he's lightning quick with a solid 90 acceleration. With his 86 strength, 67 pass rush and 87 run defense he looks like a great candidate to switch to defensive end. He does have some coverage ability with a 75 and 74 on his m2m and zone but what really worries me about this freshman is his lack of tackling ability. One of the worst tacklers in the draft, Gumbs will need to really improve on his 15 tackle if he hopes to be a starter in this league. I was not a big fan of this pick.

2-25
WR Parnell Motley
Motley is another sub par speed guy but he is a safer option with a low vol of 2. He has good hands with a potential of 80 but he's not the best route runner. I like Motley's skill set and potential to block and run with the ball in his hands. He's not a flashy player but i think he will fit in nicely and thrive in a reserve role for the Sooners.

3-26
WLB Jon-Michael Terry
Terry is an oversized lb at 263 lbs but he brings something the other two freshman didn't posess, speed. He's maxed out with an 86 rating and that will rise to 89 as he sheds 26 lbs down to 237. Terry is a disciplined player that will rarely be out of position. He has some room to grow with a 68 vol if he booms thus making his tackling even more exciting . While he thrives at putting his hand in the dirt and rushing the passer he struggles in coverage and will be a liability if he's asked to drop into space.

Summary:
I only covered the first three rounds of each team and there were more bad grades than anyone could imagine. This draft was littered with less than stellar athletes and I think Oklahoma really added to the pot. I wasn't a fan of the first round pick due to lack of speed and tackle but i think Motley will be a solid contributor. Terry adds some special teams value and blitz capability but he will hurt the defense if he's asked to be an every down player. Grade: D

1-28 DE Chase Winovich
Winovich is a prospect that has a lot of the attributes you look for when you look for a pass rusher. He's fast and is a reliable tackler. He may not be the strongest prospect but he has enough strength (68) that he won't be engulfed by offensive lineman. He has a lot of room to grow in his pass rushing (71) and run defense (55) and with a 62 vol he could really excel if he has a good training camp. I think Winvovich was a solid pick at this stage in the first round.

2-28 RB Terrence Olson
Olson will not wow anyone with his physical traits as he was lackluster in the 40 and shuttle but he makes up for it with his natural instincts to hit the right hole and run physical. He seems to play faster than his speed would indicate and is a smooth route runner out of the backfield. He did have fumbling issues in highschool and that may be a problem as he transitions to the college game. Is a very good run blocker and may give him the opportunity of moving to full back or tightend in a pinch.

3-28 MLB John Bryant
Bryant is a prospect with a very low ceiling and offers little as an athlete. He's slow and doesn't seem to play smart on the field. He has some tackle potential and was a solid pass rusher in highschool. More of a physical thumper than anything, Bryant will offer nothing more than depth for the Wolverines defense.

Summary:
I like Michigan's new regime's approach to the draft as they helped solidify the defensive line with Winovich. He has the makeup to be a very productive player and should headline a class that was somewhat mediocre. While Olson has some skills that make him intriguing I don't think his physical traits will ever allow him to excel in the NCAA. Bryant was a reach in the third and will find it very hard to make any sort of impact at this level.
