When the Oregon Ducks landed highschool QB Jefferson Gunn with the seventh pick of the recruiting draft many pundits including Kirk Herbstreit weren't sold on the young passer from Southern California. He was raw and had some fine tuning to do and with so many other highly touted players still on the board there was a lot of criticism of the pick. Gunn, a soft spoken kid with tons of confidence came to Eugene with a huge chip on his shoulder. In spring practices he wowed the coaching staff and performed like a player that could be the answer at the quarterback position for the Ducks. Through two regular seasons games Gunn has taken the NCAA by storm and is starting to make a lot of skeptics change their minds. He's still got a lot of games to prove his worth but if the first two games are any kind of barometer of what's to come, Oregon may have a star in the making.
