One of the NCAA's brightest young stars is the former top recruit Paul Johnson. He was thrown to the fire in Miami and is starting to come into his own. He's always been an effective gunslinger putting up incredible touchdown numbers for a young player but his tendency to throw the ball to the opponent has thwarted his step into the elite. In 2021 the game has started to slow down for him and his gaudy statistics are reflecting his growth. Through 5 games Johnson has 18 TD"s with only 3 interceptions. His 130.17 rating is off the charts. With three straight wins the Hurricanes are hoping to keep the momentum going in a very tough ACC division. With preseason All-American Lon Gordon becoming Johnson's go-to-guy, Miami has shown the fire power on offense that they've been craving. Look for the Canes to go only as far as the sophomore captain leads them.
