Utah's rise to prominence and the #2 ranking in the BCS Poll has flown under the radar in the national media. The captain of the nation's 8th ranked offense is sophomore QB Karl Jones. Jones has amassed 7,487 yards, 61 TD's and 25 Int's over the last two years and yet is still under the microscope in Salt Lake City. Utah is two games clear of winning their first ever Pac-12 South title in school history and a lot of their success has been because of their signal caller. With some tough divisional games to come, the Bowl playoffs are in sight. Jones will need to stay consistent and humble for the Utes to finally get some post season hardware.

Along with Karl Jones, special nods have to go out to HC Scott Ward. Since his hiring as head coach, the team went 2-0 in preseason and then 9-2 in regular season. He has installed a great defense and discipline that this team was sorely missing with the old HC.
