Former walk-on QB Wilfredo Whittaker has embraced the role each season his coaching staff has put before him. With a career rating over 100 and a completion % of 63.3 the staff finally decided to move Whittaker to the top of the depth chart. Through two games the Wildcats are undefeated and the offense has been more balanced than in the past. The leadership and command Whittaker has showcased is exactly why head coach William Knight decided to make the change. Arizona is three years removed from their title run and after missing out on the Bowl playoffs for the first time in school history drastic measures were taken. Whittaker won't wow anyone with his measurables but he's an accurate passer that doesn't hurt ya with turnovers. For Arizona to reclaim the Pac-12 South and regain their status as a legitimate contender Whittaker will need to bring a consistent playmaking threat to a balanced attack.

What is amazing about this player is that he was undrafted. He went through all rounds of the allocation draft without a single team giving him a chance. Now many teams I'm sure are wishing they had. He has been great and I wish him the best (except vs me of course..). ;)

Our QB situation has been a mystery from season 1. Whittaker was never expected to play a role. Even after the big transfer signing of William O’Connor, Wilfredo just won’t go away. We have finally decided to stick with the QB that just wins. Thanks for the spotlight!
