After two mediocre seasons by the Midshipmen's standards the team has came out of the gates looking much better in 2022. After a season of adjustment the team looks to have replaced Hall of Fame QB James Sherwood with third year RS Sophomore Scott Gee. With two wins over Marshall and a huge road win at Rutgers Navy has vaulted into the the Bowl picture. A favorable schedule in the second half of the season has many fans excited about what this team can accomplish. Sitting at 2-1 in the Independent Division, Navy has two rivalry matchups with Army that will be instrumental for the team if they hope to challenge incumbent champion Notre Dame. One of the more balanced teams, Navy is no longer a pass first attack. Their offense has evolved and a lot of their early success can be attributed to their 12th ranked defense.
