Welcome to The Irish Times, all your news, stats, and everything Notre Dame Fighting Irish. New beginnings are happening for the famed dynasty this season. AD Tommy Lawler has transferred to become owner of the USC Trojans. Michael Linamen, who was owner for Utah Utes has transferred to South Bend to fill his shoes. Says Michael, "I am very proud and excited to be part of this organization. I grew up a huge Irish fan, have Irish blood in me and will do my very best to keep this franchise winning. While this team has won multiple championships, I am not saying that will be easy this season. Many of the players have either gotten older or have transferred to other programs. Looking at the roster, many are in their final seasons of eligibility. My job is gonna be to recruit via drafts, and possibly welcome in other transfers the next several seasons. Always hoping the recruits have a good camp and can contribute to this team. And of course, while I concentrate on players coming in, I want to keep this team on top as well. It's gonna be a challenge and I am up for it." The Fighting Irish have brought in Joseph Lewis to be the head coach. Lewis was previously the QBs coach from the Utah Utes. He contributed to the progressions of QBs like Richard Heater, Karl Jones and Philip Antone. Along with Joseph Lewis, Michael has also brought in former Utes interim head coach Edward East who compiled a 5-1 record with the Utes in his short tenure. He will be the QB coach for the Irish this season.
