UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero is pleased to announce that Otterpop has taken over as the head of operations of the Football Program for the Bruins.

"Otterpop comes with some great experience and is committed to continue the winning tradition that the Coach has begun here at UCLA"

When asked about having a late start in the 2018 season, and missing the first part of signing recruits, Otterpop simply stated, "That is quite alright, I have been taking over teams in flux and have been doing well with them. You just cannot panic and keep your focus on your goals and that winning Bowl Games and National Championships. Coach had some great building blocks already in place, I just have to go out and find the right recruits and fill the holes. We will do fill the holes and UCLA will compete for Bowl Games and National Titles, I truly believe this and the players will also believe."

Fear Not Bruin Fans Coach maybe gone but the winning tradition will remain

On the first day of National Signing Day the UCLA Bruins proudly have annouce the signing of Defensive Tackle Jon Stillings from Altanta, Georgia.

Jon brings some much need muscle to the middle of UCLA defensive line. Coach Howard was excited about the signing and stated that if everything works out Jon will be a solid contributor in both stopping the run and chasing down the quarterback.

John will bring an all-around game to the linebacker core he was great against the run and can rush the quarterback.

    Disappointment in Pasadena

UCLA 17 USC 43

The start of the season saw your Bruins taken on longtime rival USC Trojans.

Confidence was high. And who would blame the Bruins fans they had returning Heismith Trophy Winner QB Robert Beall and Doak Walker award, winner Bobbie Warfield returning to last season high powered offense.

But what we saw was the Trojans take the ball away 6 times, on 5 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. These turnovers help lead to 19 points for the Trojans.

The Bruins were led on offense by QB Robert Baell who threw for 287 yards and a touchdown. On defense, the Bruins were led by Freshman MLB John Constantino who had 13 tackles and 1 sack.

Next game is against the Midshipman of Navy. Head Coach James Howard has promised that the staff will watch the game film and ensure that the team will be ready for the Midshipman.

Bruins are sunk by the Midshipmen in Annapolis

UCLA Bruins 9 Navy Midshipmen 55

Bruins continue to stumble as they suffered a 55 to 9 thrashing by the Midshipmen of Navy. The Bruins defense is showing that they are not the same team as last season but Defense Coordinator Gerald Garica is confident that he will find the right combination soon. Freshmen Linebacker John Constantino continues to show he will be a solid force on defense as he grows into the position.

On Offense, the Bruins reduced their turnovers, but the running game continues to struggle. Last Season HeismanTrophy Winner Robert Beall played better but failed to get the Bruin in the End Zone

Next up for the Bruins is a Pac-12 South Match the Utah Utes. Utah comes into Pasadena at a 0-2 eclipse. Both teams will be looking for their first victory in 2018

Bruins Get Their First Victory

Utah Utes 14 UCLA Bruins 41

After two crushing defeats Bruins, fans were treated to their first victory in 2018.

Lead by Heisman Trophy Winner Robert Beal who threw for 425 yards and 4 Touchdowns and Tight End John Jahn 9 receptions for 254 yards and 4 Touchdowns. This was the first time the Bruins Offense looked like the offense of 2017.

Next game the Bruins will travel to Arizona to take on PAC-12 foe the Arizona WIldcats. This will be yet another tough matchup for the Bruins but the coaches are confident that the Bruins will compete in this game.

Whatever happens, the Bruins will be ready.

BRUINS PANIC IN TUCSON

UCLA 16 Arizona 30

After pulling within 1 point in the 4th Quarter, Bruin Fans saw their team unravel before their eyes. After battling the Wildcats of Arizona for a little over 3 quarters the Bruins made several questionable calls in the 4th quarter.

After pulling within 1 point early in the 4th quarter the Bruins gave up a 70-yard passing play to Wildcats star receiver Fred Vogelsang while defenders double covered the slot receiver. After the Bruins offense worked itself down to the field which resulted in a 43-yard field goal. Bruins Fans saw their team gamble with nearly 11 minutes left in the game failed to convert on an onside kick.

The gambling didn't end there two failed attempts of 4th down resulted in field goals for the Wildcats.

Head Coach James Howard was asked about the calls late in the 4th Quater, "We have the utmost confidence in Robert and the offense, we can hold our heads high we came in to win the game. If the plays work you would be saying how bold we were, they didn't work so now you question our play calling. I am proud how our team played today they played a tough Arizona team and we were in this game."

The Bruins were once again lead by QB Robert Beall who has put the early season woes behind him. On Defense LDE Ronnie Miller recorded 6 tackles and WR John Harper returned the opening kickoff 110 yards for the Bruins the only touchdown on the day.

Next up the Rebels from Old Missippippi will come into Pasadena face the Bruins
