On the first day of signing, Washington State picked up Running back Lencho Wicks and Linebacker Zeus Kelekolio who both showed their worth during the training camp.
Wicks looks really explosive going through small holes and trucking through defenders like a bullet. he also been showing signs that he is comfortable with the Run and Shoot offense with being a checkdown receiver.
Kelekolio on the other hand although couldn’t catch up with Wicks in terms of speed, but he was able to contain Wicks to the inside. Kelekolio was also able to generate pressure even against Rexford off the edge if he has to.
Here are some questions during the interview that Wicks and Kelekolio answered
To Wicks:
Q: ”how do you feel with your presence on offense affect your teammates?"
A: As a running back, It is my duty to control the tempo and support the receivers by puncture through the 2nd level or catch checkdowns.
Q: “What have you been focusing on during training camp?”
A: “Because of how Coach Brown’s offensive philosophy, Ive been working on Oklahoma drills and pass catching to fit his scheme”
To Kelekolio
Q: “How do you elevate the performance on the defensive side?”
A: “I am the complete opposite of Lencho, because any run or short yards pass gets to my territory is gonna pay the price”
Q: “Same question as Lencho’s, What have you been focusing during training camp?”
A: “Similar to Lencho, I have been focusing on Oklahoma drills and most of the time against Lencho. Even though he has beaten me 10 to 2 right now”
