This will help those with contract negotiations :)

I made a tool a few seasons ago in order to help with contract extensions. If you have the patience to resign every player manually, it will save you cap space. I've decided to release it to everybody now. Hope it helps out.

Every team is going to have a huge amount of players to resign this offseason since most of the allocation draft players were signed to two year conracts. Use JSids contract wizard or ask me for help as i have my own way of doing it if you want advice. Don't wait til the end of the season and risk losing some of your good players

This first time needing to do this will require some tough decisions. Many players I HOPE to replace with better players. Many players in year 8-10 that it would be a waste of resources to extend them beyond year 12, but, for instance, my #1 DT is in year 10. The salary he will require to sign a 2 year extension will blow up a good portion of the cap budget.

I wonder if the financials could be handled differently since we aren't trading and (hopefully) keeping players long term

Question on player extensions:

Does it matter when in the players final season that you re-structure deals?
ie. now that we are past TC should we start locking up the players on the last year of their deals, or is it better to wait until later in the season. Since the players will most likely be getting a raise, don’t we want to try to leave them on the lower contract for as long of the season as possible, and re-up them only later in the season? (keeping in mind that you leave yourself enough time to sign the players and you don’t get stuck losing them to free agency as happened to a few teams this off-season)

So my philosophy is to get guys locked up early in the season just to get it out of the way unless i have some old guys that are regressing. If i have an old guy i might wait til late in the season cause if he regresses at all his demands might be cheaper. That's just my philosophy though as i don't have any proof of it. Just like if i want to resign a guy that's improving i always do it before camp so it will be when his rating isn't as high.
