Overall a negative for camp, but not all bad:
1.22 DT Danny Shelton +26/+2
The +2 is nice for a 1st rd choice, the +26 is huge as Shelton will move into a starting role. With a couple of graduate players at DT, I will see what Shelton can do on the outside.
2.23 C Bryan Bautista +0/-6
Bautista was a HS Tight End. A solid TE prospect, his profile said he had a chance to develop into a quality C/G. I put him inside for camp hoping at a minimum, the weight gain would improve his blocking. Well, 20lbs later, his blocking (run and pass) went down. I will move him back to TE where he will serve as a solid guy in my TE rotation. Unfortunately, it means I got a 4th rd quality TE in the 2nd rd.
3.22 DE Mark Kelly +13/+7
A nice camp for a position that was one of my two biggest needs
4.23 MLB Blake Francis +7/-6
This one hurt. I had no LB depth and there were precious few LB available in recruiting. Honestly, the only reason Francis stays on my roster is I have no other options.
5.22 FS Percy Jewell +7/-8
He is my one bench DB and will stay that way. A poor camp left him with no redeeming quality. I will be replacing him next offseason.
6.23 C Morton Miller +2/-4
Not a great camp, but could have been worse. He will need someone else to be injured to stay on the roster.
7.22 WR Ramiro Monarrez +11/+1
Good camp, he has good speed. A potential PR when active he can earn PT
I have a couple challenges next offseason. I made a mistake with a couple contract extensions for my seniors that will be leaving me with some dead cap space. That will make it tough for me to get transfers next year.
