Sherwood Watch

One of the biggest names to hit the transfer market in NCAA history former Navy QB James Sherwood has yet to decide where he'll play out his final year of eligibility. The 2018 Heisman winner would immediately bring another dimension at the QB position for many teams. His desire is to play for a contender but that isn't always the deciding factor. I took a look at a few teams that i thought would be in the market for his services.

1. Rutgers- They have a young QB in Cash Cannon that they invested a lot in but he's been nothing but inconsistent in his NCAA career. Their defense has been good enough to win it all so maybe this is the team that nabs Sherwood to give them their one shot.

2. Kentucky- Here's a team that has shown they can beat anyone and even got the #1 seed in their Conference in 2019 but the one thing that has hampered them is interceptions by their QB's. First it was QB Daryl Slack who threw 24 and 33 interceptions in his first two years before he was relieved of his scholarship. Then the new starter Jason Adams didn't fair much better throwing 31 and 33 in the last two seasons. Kentucky has talent on many levels and Sherwood would bring a presence to that team that they've never had.

3. Ohio St.- The Buckeyes are a team that has been meddling at the brink of a bowl game for the last couple seasons. They've had a plethora of QB's thrown into the fire without any of them succeeding. The team has talent and has shown that when they get good QB play they can beat good teams. Last Season QB Michael Osuna threw almost as many picks (28) as he did TD's (31) and Sherwood could really help get this prestigious program headed back in the right direction.

4. Oklahoma- This is my wildcard team in the hunt for James Sherwood. Oklahoma rose to be one of the top teams in the nation in the early stages of 2020 only to see their season come to a crashing halt without a bowl berth. Many Sooner fans are weary of the roller coster ride that is QB Austin Kendall and are ready to see what a seasoned vet can do with the keys to the car. While this may potentially stunt the growth a young talent like Kendall it may just be what the team needs to fulfill it's championship aspirations.

I picked up 2 QB transfers last year. Might as well try to add another to the mix. What's a little dead cap going to do?
