Homecoming Week 2 ResultsUCLA Bruins 17 - Stanford Cardinal 10
It was idyllic weather in southern California as the visiting squad from the Bay Area came marching into town to take on the hometown Bruins. Stanford has displayed some improvement in this young season with wunderkind Freshman Uncle Rico steadying their offense. But today was a day for defense as UCLA kept the Cardinal's new pivot off-balance with exotic looks all game long. The Bruins held Stanford to 220 total yards, notching 2 sacks and an interception and the offense overcame a 10-3 4th Quarter deficit as Bobby Jackson threw 2 TD passes in the final 7:00 to send close to 70,000 fans home happy.
UCLA now sits at 1-1 and are hoping this will be a harbinger of things to come for the rest of the season.
