Terrible news kicker, wishing your guys speedy recoveries!

Thanks man. ... I actually think a couple have been hurt for a while and that's why they haven't performed well. I haven't done great at tracking injuries unfortunately.

The Hawkeyes were big underdogs in week 10 and played without some key players. Iowa lost 36-12 to the UCLA Bruins but still played admirably considering the circumstances. The defense really missed three of top d-linemen as Bruins RB Bobbie Warfield ran for 142 yards and 3 TDs on 19 carries.

Hawkeyes player stats:
WR Carl White: Filled in at RB. Had 59 yards on 12 carries.
QB Thomas Brown: 17 of 28 for 187 yards, 1 INT, 1 TD, and a 77.53 rating.
WR Matthew Reid/player]: 5 catches for 88 yards.
[player=1580]WR Steven Gartman
: 4 catches for 46 yards.
LB Bryan Beyer: 8 tackles.

Up next: The Hawkeyes are underdogs (9) once again as they play host to THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

Week 11 saw what might be the Hawkeyes best performance of the season, and they did it without four starters. Iowa beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 24-3 with a dominant defensive performance. The Hawkeyes defense tallied 7 sacks, 3 INTs, and 2 forced fumbles. They also held the Buckeyes to just 62 yards rushing on 15 carries and QB Cedric Lett to 15 completions on 32 attempts for 183 yards.

Hawkeyes Stats:

Game *****:
Offense: QB Thomas Brown
Defense: LB Bryan Beyer

For all of the positives in this game, there is still some negatives. The biggest of those is fumbles. Iowa fumbled 4 times. And this has been a problem all season. Coches believe that these players will learn to hold onto the ball when they gain more experience, but for now, it is a huge problem.

Also as the stats reflect, three different players shared the bulk of rushing duty with RB Francis Carey who remains out with neck, knee, and ankle injuries.

Up next: The Hawkeyes are 9 point underdogs as they travel to Rutgers to face the Scarlet Knights. It's a game Iowa believes they have a good chance of winning. Iowa thinks this week 11 victory against Ohio State may be a turning point for them, and now they want to prove it.

Week 12 was a real barn-burner between Iowa and Rutgers! No! Really! It might make you want to burn your barn down! It was ugly. There isn't much else to say about it. Just take a look at the scoring summary:

And here's some stats for Iowa:

Up next: The Oregon Ducks!

Week 13 saw another bad loss for the Hawkeyes, this time to the Ducks of Oregon. QB Thomas Brown had one of his more active games due to an injury faced by Hawkeyes star RB Francis Carey.

Hawkeyes stats:

Up next: the Hawkeyes are 14+ point underdogs to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Week 14 was ugly for Iowa as they lost 50-14 to THE Ohio State Buckeyes. This was a much different meeting than their first encounter when the Hawkeyes upset the Buckeyes. This time though, the Hawkeyes just could not stop the run or get anything going on offense. It looks like Iowa should have tried running more as they averaged 5 yards per carry, but they appear afraid to run much without star RB Francis Carey, but the rumor is that he will return this week. Maybe we will see a healthy dose of careys.

Up next: The Hawkeyes travel USC and face the Trojans as 3 point underdogs.

Week 15 saw the return of star RB Francis Carey to the field. And oh boy! What a return it was! He totaled 457 all-purpose yards and scored TDs 3 different ways in Iowa's 49-42 victory over the USC Trojans. His 3 KRs for 160 yards and a TD were enough to earn him co-special teams player of the week. QB Thomas Brown also played much better with the return of Carey. However, he won't be playing week 16. More on that later.

Hawkeye stats:

Up next: The Hawkeyes are 2 point underdogs as they host the Michigan Wolverines for Homecoming and Senior Night. The Hawkieyes only graduating senior is QB Charlie Mahr. Mahr is going to get the start in his final game as a Hawkeye.

Week 16 saw the Hawkeyes annihilate conference foes Michigan Wolverines. Senior QB Charlie Mahr saw his only action of the season and played well on senior night. RB Francis Carey had another great game as he tallied 294 all-purpose yards, but only had 1 TD this week. WR Steven Gartman also had a strong performance. The Iowa defense also played well. The sacked the opposing QB 6 times, forced 4 fumbles, and recovered 3 of them.

Hawkeye stats:

Up next: Recruiting season. Stay tuned for more articles on what the Hawkeyes might be looking for out of recruits.
