Miami Hurricanes

QB Edward Strayer is currently on pace to have one of the best passing seasons in NCAA history.

Of the top 10 passing yards seasons for a quarterback, they all happened at least 21 seasons ago. You have to goto 16th Alltime for the most recent quarterback to have an Alltime season. QB John Hamilton of the Florida Gators threw for 6,691 yards in 2038.

Of the top 10 passing TDs seasons, only 1 quarterback was recent. QB William Peter of the Florida Gators threw 63 TD passes in 2043 which ranks 10th Alltime in a season.

QB Edward Strayer
Miami Hurricanes
2045 season (10 games)

CURRENT STATS
5,175 passing yards (126th Alltime)
54 passing TDs (22nd Alltime)

PACE
8,280 passing yards (3rd Alltime)
86 TDs passing TDs (2nd Alltime)

I have to agree! A great job done by CJ at the U. The Clemson Tigers were looking to be a repeat champion this season, but not only are we struggling to win the division but are hurting to make a post-season bid.

I just looked and we still have the U 2x. If we sweep (yeah right), we still have a game to make up just to tie!

Although a repeat looks bleak, I am enjoying having the U under new management with CJ. The "Super Conference" has added another powerhouse and makes every game very important to win.

Great job, CJ!

Miami Hurricanes

QB Edward Strayer is currently on pace to have one of the best passing seasons in NCAA history.

UPDATE!!!

2 games played and his pace has slowed a bit but he still is on pace for a record season. In fact, he has already had an Alltime season based on his current stats!

He is already 10th Alltime for TD passes in a season and needs just 7 more TD passes in the next 4 games to become top 5 Alltime.

He is already 35th Alltime in passing yards and with just 500 more yards, he would move up to 15th Alltime.

QB Edward Strayer
Miami Hurricanes
2045 season (12 games)

CURRENT STATS
6,194 passing yards (35th Alltime)
63 passing TDs (10th Alltime)

PACE
8,258 passing yards (3rd Alltime)
84 TDs passing TDs (2nd Alltime)

Only 2 games left for QB Edward Strayer and his historic season!

The 2nd year player and 1st year starter has posted insane passing numbers.

7,228 passing yards (9th Alltime)
71 TD passes (5th Alltime)

He is already top 10 in both major passing categories and his current pace can get him as high as:

8,260 passing yards (3rd Alltime)

He needs just 379 passing yards in his final 2 games to reach 3rd Alltime and 772 passing yards to become the 3rd player ever to reach 8,000 yards passing in the 29 year history of the NCAA.

His 7,228 passing yards is the most in the last 20 seasons!

81 passing TDs (3rd Alltime)

He is on pace for 81 TD passes which would place him in a 3 way tie for 3rd Alltime in a season. He needs 10 TD passes in his final 2 games but if he can manage 11 TD passes then he takes 3rd Alltime alone at 82.

He needs 12 TD passes in his final 2 games to tie 2nd Alltime in a season at 83 and 13 TD passes would place him 2nd Alltime alone.

He plays Florida State & Clemson in his final 2 games which are division rivals. His passing numbers versus both teams this season are:

Florida State
468 yards
4 TD

Clemson
597 yards
5 TD

I was hoping that statistic stayed "in house"!

1 game remaining for QB Edward Strayer and he currently sits:

7,869 passing yards (3rd Alltime)
&
76 TD passes (5th Alltime)

He most likely will remain 3rd Alltime in passing yards barring a historic game where he passes for 1,390 yards in week 16 versus division rival Clemson. The game has no real playoff implications since both teams have secured spots in the College Bowl Championship series but seeding is still undetermined.

He can move into a tie for 3rd Alltime in a season with 5 TD passes in week 16 and he needs 7 TD passes to move into a tie for 2nd Alltime.

2045

QB Edward Strayer

He was recruited 8th overall in the 2044 recruiting class and after sitting a year, he won the starting job under new coach, C.J. Frederick this season.

He finished with the 3rd best season Alltime in NCAA history with 8400 yards passing (3rd Alltime) & 81 TD passes (3rd Alltime).

RB Andrew McLeod

He was recruited 2nd overall in the 2045 recruiting class and started as a true freshman. He immediately became Strayer's top target out of the backfield where he led the NCAA with 133 receptions (29th Alltime), 2,438 yards receiving (10th Alltime) & 19 TD receptions (37th Alltime).

He only rushed for 612 yards in this pass first offense but he ended up leading the NCAA with 3,080 Total yards (11th Alltime) & 24 Total TDs (19th Alltime).

WR Robert Turner

Senior Robert Turner was the secondary target for Strayer where he finished 4th with 1,457 yards receiving and tied for 1st with 19 TD receptions.

TE Joseph Deshazo

He joined McLeod & Turner to become the 3rd 1,000 receiver where he finished with 1,175 yards receiving (11th).

2046 Miami Hurricanes

Head Coach C.J. Frederick was named the Paul "Bear" Bryant co-coach of the year last season along with the University of Florida's Head Coach. In his first year as head coach, he led Miami back to a bowl game and will look to take another step forward this season and compete for the National Championship.

QB Edward Strayer returns for his RS Sophomore season after winning the Heisman trophy last season and having a truly historic season statistically. The big question around campus is how can he follow such an amazing season in his 2nd year as starter.

RB Andrew McLeod returns after being named freshmen of the year & winning the Paul Hornung award for being the best All-purpose player in the NCAA. He and Strayer became quite the tandem and the team rode their shoulders into a bowl game.

TE Stephen Shaw returns for his sophomore season at a new position since he fell in the WR depth chart last season, he bulked up in the off-season and will compete to become a starting TE.

WR Robert Turner returns for his RS Junior season after leading all WRs with 1,457 yards receiving & 19 TD receptions.

CB Ricard Arena returns for his true freshman season after leading the defense with 89 tackles and being 2nd in knockdowns with 14.

2046 recruiting class (camp scores)

RB Bert Morrison +14/+5
WR Sergio Lutz +4/+3
WR Scott Gross +4/+1
K Michael Woods +15/+6
DT Arthur Rodriguez +2/+3
DT Ian Mumford +3/-7
MLB Christain Herrera +12/+1

2047 Miami Hurricanes

Head Coach C.J. Frederick was repeatedly asked about QB Edward Strayer and could he rebound from a disappointing 2046 campaign. Coach Frederick finally had enough and said this:

"Disappointing!!!! The kid threw for over 6,400 yards and 56 TD passes and that's disappointing!!! You reporters are unbelievable!!!!

He stormed out of the press conference and he has a point but when you win the Heisman in your first season as starter, throw for 8,400 yards & 81 TDs, expectations are enormous. Strayer seemed to take the criticism in stride and entered 2047 with a calm yet determined look in his eyes.

The season started with a 20-17 lose to Clemson before Strayer bounced back to win the next 5 games tallying 2,406 yards, 20 TD passes & 7 interceptions through the first 6 games. A pace to match his 2046 passing numbers of 6,453 yards & 53 TD passes.

Then something clicked in week 7 and Strayer took it to the next gear throwing for 820 yards (10th Alltime game), 11 TD passes (4th Alltime game) & 2 interceptions. That started an incredible 6 game stretch which included a 37-30 win at home versus the heated rival Florida Gators. He combined for 3,833 yards, 40 TD passes & 9 interceptions over the next 6 games. That set a blistering pace which would shatter every NCAA passing record.

Through 12 games, Strayer is now on pace to throw for 8,337 yards & 80 TD passes which would nearly equal his totals of 8,400 & 81 from his Heisman season.

Coach Frederick trotted onto the practice field passing a group of reporters and said over his shoulder:

"You all still disappointed!?"

Edit to add:

QB Edward Strayer threw for 933 yards (3rd Alltime) and 11 TD passes (4th Alltime) in the week 12 massacre of Syracuse 101-3. It's the 3rd time in Strayer's career he had thrown 11 TD passes and its only been reached 9 times in the history of the NCAA.
