Utes are ecstatic over what they feel is the second successful draft in a row. 1st ROUND PICK= TE Richard Cornett. He slipped a little in training camp but this TE is solid and can fill a major role once current starter Gould graduates. 2nd ROUND PICK= RB Jonathan Greer. Disappointed a lot in training camp. However, he still has the skills to be an elite speedy RB. He couldn't break as many tackles as the Utes originally thought he could but he will still be a threat in the backfield. And he didn't really put the ball on the ground much either. Happy about this pick. 3rd ROUND PICK= FS Robert Thompson. This guy boomed in camp and he has the speed and zone coverage skills to add to the talent already in the secondary. 4rd ROUND PICK= QB Phillip Antone. A major steal this late in draft. He boomed in training camp and with time to work on his accuracy, the guy can and will be a franchise QB for Utah. If the Utes take their time on him and let him sit for awhile behind current starter Heater, they have a good one who has the arm as well. 5th ROUND PICK= WR Kevin Bergeron. This big framed WR impressed in camp and will have a shot at being the 3rd or 4th WR for several seasons in a Utah uniform. He possesses skills that could be 1st round talent, like pass catching, route-running and B&R avoidance. Utes couldn't have asked for more in this draft. :)
