TEXAS LOSES TO KENTUCKYCarroll McCartney had the Texas team in a position to beat Kentucky last night in Austin. But it was not to be as the Wildcats stormed back and beat the Longhorns 33-28. It was a disappointing loss for the Texas team that really played well except that they gave the football away 4 times. It's hard to beat a good team, or anyone when you turn the ball over.
McCartney went 21/38 for 262 yards, 4 TD and 2 INT. he was sacked 4 times for a loss of 42 yards. Most of his throws were accurate although he did throw some up for grabs when he was feeling the pressure from the Kentucky blitz.
Gribble carried 17/79 yards, Patchen 3/23 yards in the ground game. Freddy Mitchell caught 4/80 yards. McLane, Vigue, Clover, and Gonzalez had TD catches.
On D, Pearsson led with 9 tackles, Mc Lane played well and seemed to be everywhere in the first half. Lowery, Bradshaw, and Delissio each sacked the Kentucky QB.
Up next on the schedule is Kansas who will surely be looking to get back the game that Texas won a few weeks ago.
