This is my favorite press conference of all time! So many times over the years I've yelled 'FAT'! The best part of this whole thing is that OSU actually won their game, he was legit pissed at the media... When it happened I changed my fantasy team name to 'I'M A MAN! I'M 40!' Good stuff...

Day 2 of Recruitment is under our belts, and OSU GM Eyeballll offers his thoughts on the new Cowboys:

QB Randy Williams “Randy is an amazing raw talent. He's got it all, his smarts and athletic abilities are off the charts. He's had a tendency to be erratic, and we hope we can work with him to improve his accuracy. But with the lack of QB talent out there, we couldn't be happier to have a great young general in our camp!”

DT Daniel Young “We're happy to welcome Daniel Young to Oklahoma State. An absolute freak of nature. We have a hard driving 310lb speed demon to make the opposition interior line sweat. Another raw talent, we've seen flashes of brilliance and we hope he can live up to his potential.

WR Terry Pauli We have big plans for Terry Pauli. His versatility makes him a classic hybrid player. He will be lining up at RB, but will also play a big role in the passing game. Like all of our players, he is raw, but young and athletically gifted. Remember his name, Terry Pauli will be haunting defensive coordinator's dreams for years to come!”

CB Juan Hoke “Juan is another example of a great raw talent. If he can live up to his potential, he will be a great shutdown corner. He has all the skills to succeed, but has proven himself to be a little erratic from time to time. We trust that he will grow into his role and make us proud.”

SS John Williams “John Williams will put fear into opposing offenses. A young, stable, hard hitting SS, John will be anchoring our defense, bringing it together with his solid, responsible play. He is the perfect player to slip into this important role. Welcome, John!”

WR Mark Omalley “Another great young prospect. Young Omalley will easily slip into the #1 WR position, and we trust he will stay there for the next 10 seasons. Solid in every way, fast, smart, good hands. Should be good for 1000-1500 yards a season. We're excited to have him!”

CB Marcelino Roush “Marcleino is a real diamond in the rough. He has the basic skills to be a #1 shutdown corner. He has speed to burn and sticks like glue. His tackling has been questionable, he will struggle with this. But for the most part, receivers won't be able to catch much when being shadowed by Roush. A welcome addition to our strong defense.”

WR Derrick Vos “We are pleased to announce the arrival of Derrick 'Gathers No Moss' Vos! We plan on lining Vos up in the WR2 position, and he will make CB2's lives miserable with his blazing speed. At 173 lbs, he is one of the lightest players in the draft, making him faster than an average weight player. We expect Vos to be responsible for many run and catch big plays.”

Eyeballll concluded, “All in all, there are a lot of holes yet to fill, but we are very happy with out first picks. We have a great young group, they will be with us years to come. We look forward to how things develop for the next few seasons!”

Oklahoma State 23, Kansas Jayhawks 17

Week 1 saw a divisional game that neither team seemed to want to win. Both offenses struggled, and turnovers became the word of the day. The Cowboy defensive line proved to be the strength of the team, registering 6 sacks and 25 pressures! They were in KU Qube Maillet’s face all day, forcing one interception and 2 fumbles. OSU QB Randy Williams struggled in his first big time college game, tossing 3 picks and finishing with a QB rating of 53. He’ll have to get better.

GAME *****:
Offense- Derrick Vos, WR: 5 rec, 112 yds.
Defense- Rickey Robinson, DT: 2 sacks, 9 pressures (!)

Eyeballll’s View: “An ugly win is a still a win. Moving forward, we have big immediate concerns about the offense. We knew we had a lot of raw talent, but we were hoping it was more ‘talent’ than ‘raw’. We played like a high school team on offense. It looks like we will be relying on the defense to keep us in games. Williams has to get better.”

Next up: OSU travels to Michigan to face the 0-1 Wolverines. A highly ranked Michigan will be looking to get on track after losing a close one in Week 1 to Arizona State.

Oklahoma State 20, Michigan 13

What started out as a scary 1st quarter turned into a close win for 2-0 Oklahoma State. After a stretch of 6 incompletions and 2 interceptions, Michigan easily took the lead 10-0. OSU QB seemed to want to give the game away. But some strong pressure by OSU's Defensive Line led to some timely turnovers and the 1st half ended with an 14-10 OSU lead. Williams settled down to play a more secure 2nd half and the defense continued to prove their dominance. In the end, Wolverine QB Nolan was sacked 10 times, coughed up the ball 4 times (he did recover 2 of his own fumbles) and threw 2 picks.

GAME *****:
Offense- RB Terry Pauli: 16 carries for 91 yds, 7 rec for 78 yds, 1 TD.
Defense- DT Daniel Young: 4 tackles, 1 sack, 5 hurries, 2 recovered fumbles.

Eyeballll's View: “Defense lead the way again, I think this is going to be a theme this year! I think if the offense can manage 20 points, we can win the game. I saw flashes of brilliance from the offense, but not enough to make up for the stretches of difficulty. Right now I cringe every time Williams goes back to pass. Somehow, we've managed to beat 2 very good teams. We like the team we have, and it will only get better with experience.”

Next Up: 3rd tough road game in a row as OSU travel to Ohio to clash with the Undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes.

Oklahoma State 47, Texas Longhorns 7.

The Oklahoma State home opener was a big success, as the Cowboys game the home fans a lot to cheer about. The defense more than made up for giving up 30 points against Ohio State in their previous game. Texas couldn’t move the ball at all: At the end of the first half, the Longhorns had -16 yards total! Leading the charge was Defensive End Roberto Ellman, who finished the game with 5 sacks and 15 pressures. The secondary managed 7 interceptions, with CB1 Hoke snagging 3 (and snagging the NCAA Defensive POTW Award for Week 4). The Cowboy offense faired well, but could do no wrong with the constant great field position they started drives with. One big black mark on the game is the serious injury to RB Pauli, who will be out for the next couple of month while he rehabs a leg injury.

GAME *****:
Offense- WR Derrick Vos: 5 Rec, 156 yards, 2 TD’s.
Defense- DE Roberto Ellman: 5 sacks, 15 hurries.

Eyeballll's View: “I thought the defense put on an imcredible show for the home fans. Each game a different player seems to step up and play lights out. The pressure we’re putting on the opposing QB has really been the key to all the turnovers. Quarterbacks are closing their eyes and coughing the ball up like crazy. With the inexperienced offense we have, this is the going to be the key to OSU making a bowl game. This has been a very good start to the season for us!”

Next Up: The Cowboys welcome a struggling Rutgers team to Stillwater for a Week 5 battle. The Scarlet Knights are licking their wounds after being the latest victim of the UCLA offensive juggernaut.
