Georgia Bulldogs 22, Oklahoma State 14.

The Georgia Bulldogs took full advantage of OK State depleted offensive line to hand the Cowboys their first home loss of the season. QB Williams simply couldn’t handle the constant pressure in his face, and managed only 11 completions of his 30 attempts. Throw in 8 sacks, 2 interceptions and a fumble, and you can start to see that it was not Williams’ day. 7 of the 8 sacks (and countless pressures) were allowed by rookie backupLG Bryan Hastings, who had been thrust into the role of starter. Bulldog Stud DT Tony Theriault had a field day against Hastings, recording 5 sacks and 14 hurries. On top of the offensive woes, the OSU defense had an uncharacteristically poor game against the pass heavy Bulldogs, allowing 418 yards in the air.

GAME *****:
Offense- RB Terry Pauli: 17 carries for 103 yds
Defense- CB2 Marcelino Roush: 7 tkls, 3 catches allowed on 13 passes, 2 knockdowns.

Eyeballll's View: “This one was hard to watch. It was evident pretty early that we had made a mistake in promoting Hastings to the starting role. It’s a tough situation, none of the teams have any depth in the first year, and I think we are all just a couple of injuries away from a losing streak. We still aren’t healthy, and we have to find a way to protect our QB. We’re going to lick our wounds and go back to the drawing board. Georgia is a good team and they played a great game. The actual score made us look better than we were. Win/loss record mean nothing in this league.”

Next Up: OK State limp to Florida to play the 1-11 Florida Gators. Florida’s only win was in Week 1 against the Georgia Bulldogs, the team that just beat the Cowboys. This is bad…

Oklahoma State 31, Florida 9

The Oklahoma State offense showed a glimpse of what the future may hold, taking advantage of an injured Florida offensive line and picking up their biggest yard total of the year (622.) QB Williams showed what would happen if he actually got some decent play from his offensive line. Each of his two speedy wideouts picked up long touchdown receptions, (Vos-65 yds and Omalley-75yds.) The Cowboy defense played a solid game, holding the Gators to under 200. But, for maybe the first time this year, the offense was the reason for the OK State victory.

GAME *****:
Offense- QB Randy Williams: 17/22 for 360 yds, 4 TDs, 0 Ints, 158.14 QB rating
Defense- CB Juan Hoke: 8 tckls, 3 catches on 9 passes, 1 knockdown.

Eyeballll's View: “This was a good road game for us. I realize that Florida has struggled this year, but it’s a good feeling to follow up a disappointing loss with a solid win. It wasn’t perfect, we have to protect the ball better, in particular RB Pauli. Our starting runningback can’t fumble the ball, especially not twice in one game. We have to continue to improve. But yeah, it’s great to see the offense firing on all cylinders.”

Next Up: OK State goes from playing a 1-12 team to playing a 12-1 team. The Cowboys pack their pads up and travel to Tennessee, where the #1 ranked Volunteers have decimated all their opposition. Tennessee have won their last 4 games by an average score of 47-7. This will be the biggest test of the year for the young Cowboys.

Tennessee Volunteers 34, Oklahoma State 24.

This was a very good game, and if you saw the Mayweather/McGregor fight, there are a lot of similarities. Oklahoma State went toe to toe with the #1 team in the league, and looked better than anyone thought they would. In fact, OK State had the lead in the 4th quarter. But in the end, the Cowboys ran out of gas, and the Tennessee Volunteers took full advantage of an exhausted young team. OK State earned some respect, but the better team won.

GAME *****:
Offense- RB Terry Pauli: 18 carries for 105 yds
Defense- CB Juan Hoke: 5 tackles, 3 catches allowed on 12 attempts, 1 knockdown.

Eyeballll's View: “We viewed this game as somewhat of a measuring stick game, and I’m relatively happy with the game. I thought our offensive line held up well, even with 2 starters out. Williams played well, under the circumstances. Our run defense was very good. The only thing I was disappointed with was our Pass D, which has been a strength all year. You can’t be good every game, I know, but we had a shot at this one. ”

Next Up: Oklahoma State hosts a strong Louisiana State team. Both teams are coming of losses to very good teams, and both teams look to bounce back and get back to their winning ways. Should be a barnburner!

Oklahoma Sooners 45, Oklahoma State 24.

It was an ominous way to end the regular season. The Sooners came into Oklahoma State's house and lay a good ol' fashioned beatdown on the intimidated Cowboys. There were so many mistakes made by the Cowboys, both offensively and defensively. Missed field goals, fumbles, and penalties plagued OSU. The Sooners offense overpowered a surprisingly overmatched OK State defense, moving the at will in the second half. To give you a good idea of how the game went for the Cowboys, please watch the 6 plays starting with this play:

What looked like a nice TD turns into a disaster drive. The game was well out of hand, but it shows the kind of game it was for OK State.

GAME *****:
Offense- RB Terry Pauli: 6 rec for 229 yds.
Defense- SS John Williams: 11 tackles, 1 rec allowed on 4 attempts.

Eyeballll's View: “Wow, Big Poppa and Oklahoma get up to play us! They forced us into all kinds of mistakes, we were simply dominated. It's good to get this game out of the way; we have to put this game behind us. We've been saying all year that we are young and our best years are ahead of us. We are proud of our team to be playing in a Bowl Game in our first season, that was our preseason goal. That being said, 2 wins in our last 5 games is not good enough. We have to wake up and prepare to play a tough Seminole team!”

Next Up: THE OUTBACK BOWL!! Florida State Seminoles are 10-2 in their last 12 games; Oklahoma State have lost 2 in a row at home. It's a Cowboy vs Indian matchup for the ages! Will the Cowboys be able to turn their fortunes around and win their first Bowl Game? We'll see...

OUTBACK BOWL

Oklahoma State 38, Florida State Seminoles 6

Well, this one was a shock! Florida State, rolling on a 10-2 record came into OK State and got manhandled. The Cowboys Defense has been solid all year, but this was a different story. I don't know what the FSU players said to get the Okie boys so fired up, but the pressure that both the secondary and the D line put on the Seminoles was stifling. Seminole QB Jim Kelly struggled to complete passes, going 10/30 and throwing 3 picks in the first half. The OSU offense played a solid game, with QB Williams hooking up with Vos six times in the first half for 142 yards and 2 Td's. An all around great game for Outback Bowl Champs Oklahoma State!

GAME *****:
Offense- WR Derrick Vos: 7 rec for 154 yds.
Defense- RDE Roberto Ellman: 3 tackles, 3 sacks, 9 hurries

Eyeballll's View: “WHOA! It's nice to know that this team will respond after a bad loss. I'm so proud of this team, standing up a to a really tough Florida State team. It's nice for our fans to be able to cheer at home, after 2 straight home losses. Well, 1 down, 3 to go! Bring on Clemson! ”

Next Up: The Sugar Bowl! The High Scoring Clemson Tigers should be well rested after their bye, and comfortable playing at home. Both teams have a minimal amount of injuries, and are both playing fantastic football right now. This should be a great game!

The National Media has gathered in the spacious OSU Media Room and are impatiently awaiting the arrival of Athletic Director Eyeballll, who is predictably late. The smoldering murmer of the crowd ignites into a blazing roar as Eyeballll casually enters the room and approaches the podium. Eyeballll smirks and shakes his head as the manic crowd wave microphones and yell undiscernable questions at him. It's been a little crazy in the OSU Headquarters since Bryson10 boldly made what has come to be known as The Prediction. He waves his arms to calm the crowd and patiently waits for silence. When the room is quiet enough, he points to a shaking young reporter in the front.

"EYEBALLLL!!", he screams, clearly not expecting to be called on, "um... so, what were your first enotions when you saw that you had B10's vote for NCAA Champion?"

"Shock," Eyeballll responds quickly and matter of factly, "Honestly, I was happy to see that we were predicted to win the division. But scrolling down to see our logo in the Champ slot was, yeah, shocking. We weren't a good team last year. We were bad. BAAAAD! So yeah, it was a shock"

"Did you have any discussions with B10 prior to the announcement?" comes a question from the middle of the crowd.

"No, nothing like that. I guess Tommy sees something in our team that he likes. He doesn't generally go with the popular opinion, he looks carefully to find new teams that might succeed. But no, I haven't put any bugs in his ear or anything like that. It's not like I told him we were going to do something special this year."

"Did you consider stepping down after your 7-9 season last year?"

Eyeballll glares at the reporter briefly before continuing. "You don't have to remind me about the record. I know the record. And no, I didn't consider quitting." He looks down and shuffles before and goes on. "You know, in the darkest, quietest times, you do ask questions. Am I making the right decisions? Am I good enough? I've made mistakes, big ones. But we are determined to turn it around, be fiscally responsible and win games. I'm not going anywhere."

Eyeballll points to a raised hand. "What are your predictions for OSU football this year? Do they match Bryson's?"

"Well, I won't make predictions, but we have goals", Eyeballll responds, smiling, "We have a young team, we're still figuring things out. We had a great draft, added some good quality players and had a successful preseason. We feel we can compete for the division title, maybe put up 11 or 12 wins. We'd like to qualify for a Bowl Game. And we would like to win that Bowl Game. After that, well, then we can start trying to live up to Tommy's expectations."

With that last statement, Eyeballll thanks the media crowd and walks to the door, ignore the panicked yelling and frantic hands waving for his attention.
