Week 7 - Ole Miss Rebels

By Chandyo
8/14/2017 9:38 am
The line is even, the rivals are bitter, the game is ready to kick off in Fayetteville.

Arkansas falls behind early in this one. They fall to a 13 point deficit at the end of the 1st. They would never recover. A disappointing 234 yards total offense, with only 3 yards on the ground. 7 Punts for Donald Stowe Starting Center Mike Lucero suffered a neck injury in this one. He had to be stretchered out. We got reports that he has movement in all his extremities but may be a little bit before we have a more definitive answer to how serious the injury was.

LOSS 16-23

GAME *****
Offensive:WR-Mario Monk (12 Receptions, 175 yards.)
Defensive: CB-Herb Herren (8 Tackles, 1 Forced Fumble)

"Game plan for Arkansas may need to be gutted and reinstalled here, we are not getting the result we want. The kids are fighting but I feel like we shouldn't be at 2-5 right now. I take full responsibility and will do everything I can to correct these woes." - Head Coach Larry Harvey

"I told Coach Harvey to lighten up, it's our inaugural season is this New NCAA format. He's just wanting the best for our university, it's why I hired him. He know you media types, no offense, but you guys have a history of when a coach is doing bad, you guys put him on the hot seat. So I want to be clear to all of the media, no matter the outcome here this season, Coach Larry Harvey and his staff are safe. They are in no way in the Hot Seat. Now this time next season that could be a different story but right now, I assure you Coach Harvey will be our Head Coach for the 2018 season." - Athletic Director Josh Chandyo.

"Lucero may miss the rest of the season but right now we aren't worried about football. We want him to get better. From what I have heard he's moving around on his own so no permanent damage. He's laughing and joking with his family and the team as they go up to see him." - O-Line Coach Roger Banks

By Chandyo
8/22/2017 9:39 am
This week Arkansas heads to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles.

FSU gets out to the early lead but Arkansas is able to answer. Both teams would go back and forth all game. Both team put up over 500 yards of total offense. Arkansas appears to be running a full on passing attack led by QB-Jay Jones. 2 wide receivers went over the century mark in this one as well. Arkansas put up a good fight but aren't able to get it done this week as they fall.

LOSS 27-33

GAME *****
Offensive: QB-Jay Jones (41/68 for 558 yards, 3 Touchdowns)
Defensive: LE-Dennis Hosmer (2 Tackles, 3 Sacks)

Through 8 games Arkansas sets at a disappointing 2-6 record. This full on passing attack however seems interesting. We will have to see if the team continues to use it or not.

Week 9 - LSU Tigers

Back home this week to take on the rivals of LSU.

Arkansas was not considered to win this one at all but somehow pulled the upset here. LSU is the far better team. Over 600 yards passing for QB-Jay Jones, a receiver over 300 yards, (John Gomez). This might have been Arkansas best game thus far in this season and for that to come to LSU, it was huge.

WIN 46-26

GAME *****
Offensive: QB-Jay Jones (41/60, 642 yards, 6 Touchdowns, 0 Picks)
Defensive: SS-Rick Price (10 Tackles)

Arkansas gets back in the winning column for only the 3rd time this season. Still looking to forward to see what this team can do. It appears they have made a change to go full on passing. Lets see if they stick to that.

Week 10 - at Alabama Crimson Tide

This week the Razorbacks head to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide. Named Game of the Week.

Alabama - 508 Total Yards, Arkansas 624 Total Yards. This one was an offensive showdown. Arkansas once again featuring the all our passing attack. Coach Harvey has now dubbed the AirHawg Offensive. 3 Arkansas Razorback recieverss were over 100 this week with one going over 240. QB-Jay Jones doesn't care what receiver he finds, he's does not have a favorite as he appears to just throw it to who ever.

WIN 49-35

GAME *****
Offensive: WR-Lowell Conte (8 Catches, 242 yards, 3 Touchdowns)
Defensive: CB-Ken Carroll (7 Tackles, 2 Picks)

Up Next is Clemson.

Week 11 - Clemson Tigers

By Chandyo
8/22/2017 10:04 am
The Razorbacks welcome Clemson to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium in Fayetteville this week.

Clemson would get out to an early led, Arkansas would match them until the 2nd half where Clemson would just run away with it. HB-Frank Linton was featured in the passing game this week and went over the century mark in receiving yards. Clemson wasn't going to let the AirHawg Offensive shine this week.

LOSS 14-40

GAME *****
Offensive: HB-Frank Linton (6 Receptions, 148 yards, 1 Touchdown)
Defensive: WLB-Shane Jasso (8 Tackles 1 Sack)

Arkansas is still sitting in second in the SEC West despite being 4-7 on the season. Up next the Razorbacks will to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers of LSU again. LSU will be looking to avenge that week 9 loss. They sit atop of the SEC West and have a 7-4 record. Arkansas will look to see if they can sweep the Tigers this season.

This week we head to Baton Rouge for the revenge game. Last time Arkansas was able to pull off the upset.

The two teams went toe to toe in this one. Felt like a real rivalry. Going into the half the Razorback led 10-7 however, they would not find any more points in the 2nd half and the Tigers would get a Field Goal and a Touchdown. Another 300 yard day from QB-Jay Jones but the Hogs fell short.

LOSS 10-16

GAME *****
Offensive: WR-Mario Monk (9 Receptions 139 yards.)
Defensive: FS-David Hendricks (2 Interceptions, 5 Tackles)

Week 13 - Alabama Crimson Tide

By Chandyo

Alabama comes to Fayetteville this week. Arkansas has the 1st victory between these two earlier this season.

The Razorbacks put up an offensive show today. They had over 669 total offensive day. 300 on the ground and 300 in the air. There wasn't much Alabama could do to stop the clinic by the offensive. They did however have over 380 offensive yards themselves and put up 31 on the Razorback defensive unit. HB-Frank Linton had a career day racking up over 245 yards and 2 touchdowns. QB-Jay Jones passed for over 350 today.

WIN 53-31

GAME *****
Offensive: HB-Frank Linton (19 carries, 246 yards, 2 Touchdowns, 1 reception for 9 yards.)
Defensive: CB-Ken Carroll (5 Tackles, and an Inception returned for a Touchdown.)

The Razorbacks needed this win however regardless of how the remaining season goes the Razorbacks will not see post-season action.

Week 14 - Georgia Bulldogs

By Chandyo
9/13/2017 4:14 pm
This week the Razorbacks welcome the Georgia Bulldogs to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium here in Fayetteville.

This is 1st time the Razorbacks have meet the Bulldogs this season. The SEC East foe came in and took care of the Hogs. The Razorbacks had a lead entering the 2nd Quarter but would lose site of that and not regain it. They did however put up an impressive 492 offensive yardage day.

LOSS 23-41

GAME *****
Offensive: QB-Jay Jones (28/54 for 398 yards and 2 Touchdowns)
Defensive: WLB-Shane Jasso (8 Tackles, 1 Interception)

Week 15 - Navy Midshipmen

By Chandyo
9/13/2017 4:24 pm
Navy comes to Fay-Town.

What a 3rd Quarter from the Arkansas Razorbacks. They put up 28 unanswered in the 3 stanza. This was on of those instant classics. It was 28-21 entering the 4th quarter. The the Navy QB James Sherwood finds HB Jim Brown for a 11 yard touchdown. They would tie it 28 all. Then Arkansas couldn't do anything and with 2:00 left all hope seemed gone as the Midshipmen scored again to make it 34-28. The Kicker would miss. QB-Jay Jones would drive the Razorbacks down the field and score with 1:26 left on the clock. The Razorbacks would hold on on for the 1 point victory.

WIN 35-34

GAME *****
Offensive: HB-Frank Linton (13 carries for 149 yards, 1 reception for 10 yards and a touchdown)
Defensive: MLB-Brock Lund (11 Tackles)
