Cutting of graduating players Vote

When should teams be required to cut graduates?

Before season's end to allow all transfers three weeks to decide their team?

Once new season starts before the first Free Agency spin occurs giving transfers two weeks of free agency but allowing teams cap relief on the longer contracts?

Even more incentive to make the championship :)

Well right now the vote is to make players be released before EOS. But to make things fair, I say that they should all be allowed to be released at same time. When the championship teams release them, that's when the rest of us should too.

U realize that cutting them at the end of the season doesn't make much of a cap loss for the current season. U still pay the bonus due for this season. It's the next season where the bonuses all compile up. Just saying, that the current dead cap penalty means practically nothing at the end of the season cuz u already paid the guy the same amount of money.

So it really doesn't matter when at the end of the season u cut them the cap penalty is the same regardless of championship or no championship lol

I am looking at just one player from league 75, who is in championship midweek sim... Here's what it says when I try to cut him "Are you sure you want to cut this player? The player will be released from your roster at the next sim. Cutting this player will free up $0 for this year's salary cap. He will count $5,646,106 against the salary cap this year and $8,131,932 against the salary cap next year." Lots of money counted against the current season.

You're saying that should say the same thing during the EOS sim.. Correct? If that's true, then it's correct that it doesn't matter when you cut him. I've never had to worry about this before..lol However, if the player is cut during the EOS spin, no money could be lost from the current season since it's over on the next sim.

This WHOLE discussion is why I advocated cuts ONLY immediately following the Championship spin and before End of Season spin.
It creates less questions and eliminates potential for misuse by playoff teams.

Just thinking that even if it does, this still gives a huge advantage to the two championship teams. Because they won't have to cut anyone until that EOS spin. So any cap loss wouldn't take place until the start of the new season for them.

I have tried cutting players after week 16 to save cap money (to resign other players) and there is no cap savings...the bonuses are prorated through the 16 game season....no advantage to cutting before playoffs compared to after championship.

^This. After the regular season, makes no difference when u cut. What u saw in "dead money" the current year Michael is just his regular salary and bonus for that year. That's it.

And this is my vote too. I'm sure no matter what the rule will end up being, someone will undoubtedly be confused and mess up... This is my vote

if we do that many owners will forget. I've had to remind at least 5 owners every offseason to cut guys so i don't see how this would solve the issue
