After comments made by Utah UCLA practiced with a little more extra motivation. They practiced as if they were playing for the National Championship tonight.

John Curley is Coming to the Bruins

Youngstown State's corner John Curley is now a member of the UCLA Bruins. When questioned about what occurred while in high school Coach Jones, reminded the press "The kid was a model citizen while attending Youngstown State and the coaching staff raved about him when we talked to them. You folks of the press need to look at the man now, not the kid then. He was 16 years old when all that occurred and you are still holding against him. What did you do when you were 16? Do you want me to hold it against you now?" Coach Jones went on to say "Curly has proven to be a great player in the FCS, but this is the NCAA and he is now ready to show everyone he can to do the same in the NCAA."

Montana State HB Alexander Rice is coming to Westwood

The Bruins sign the speedy back from Montana State. Alexander Rice is yet another transfer from the FCS league. Bruins are going with guys who have experience in the college game but are they taking too much risk? Alexander is fast but very strong runner. There is no question that the Bruins need this type of player but is the risk to much?

The coaching staff does not think so. All 3 coaches, Harry Jones, John Gibson and Robert Flowers agree that the reward will be greater then the risk.
