Final Signing Brings a future CB????

On the final day of freshmen signing day, the Bruins bring in Cornerback Dan Sweeney. According to an interview with Bruin Sports Report Sweeney was over the recruiting process and wanted to commit. What also helped? The fact that UCLA is close to home and Coach Tillett really charmed his mother and sold her on the school, which we all know is very easy to do - UCLA sells itself.

Samuel's size is intriguing - a nice long CB who had a very good senior year. According to Scout, he runs well and has improved his flexibility and how he plays in space over the past year. He only had offers from smaller schools earlier this year but received a flurry of offers in the last couple of days.

Trouble in Bruin Land?

Today the Bruins hosted a slew of walk-ons/students/transfers looking for another Quarterback. "There is no question we are concern about Bobby's health both physical and mental. We are going to give the kid a chance to get things right before we put him back on the field" said head coach Harry Jones

New Quarterbacks Sign with the Bruins

With the unknown aliments of starter Bobby Jackson, the Bruins bring in two transfers.

UCLA fans are familiar with QB Christopher Christiansen who once a starter for USC before transferring to Michigan. Coaches are excited about Christopher experience.

The Bruins also brought in former Syracuse Quarterback Jose Brown little is known about Josh but coaches are excited about his ball control when handling the football.

When asked about who is going to start against Ohio State, Coach Jones only said we are working day and night to get both of these quarterbacks up to speed and do not count out Bobby he is a good kid and he can ball in this game we are not giving up on him.

Asked about longtime backup Terrell Anderson, Coach Jones said Terrell has made the decision that is best for him and transfer to another school. He is a good kid and I believe when he is ready he can be a fine coach at this level one day.

Yet another injury on the Bruins Defensive Line.

Defensive End David Honeycutt joins Defensive Tackle Jon Stillings, Defensive End Mariano Gilmore and Defense End Damon Smith on the injured list. That is 3 of 4 starters and a key backup all injured for the Bruins.

The Bruins have not had their projected starting 4 defensive linemen start in the same game all season.

UCLA PRESS CONFERENCE

Press Coach, Coach over here... Fans were excited about the victory over Kansas but expressed concerns about the direction of the offense. What do you have to say about the fans concerns.

Coach Jones It was a good win for our program, we are excited about the win. But it time to turn our attention to Oklahoma State.

Press What about the Fans Concerns about the offense.

Coach Jones We won the game that is all that matters around here. How we win that game doesn't matter to me or to our Program.

Press But Coach???

Coach Jones I said enough move on...

Press What about Wiggins?? Is going to play next game?

Coach Jones Stephen is a great kid and his heart says he is ready. But he twisted his ankle good and will be out sometime..

Press When will Rod Gilmore be coming back? Will he be ready for Oklahoma State?

Coach Jones Dang Nabbit you know very well that was one serious injury. The kid is lucky to be walking. NO!!! he won't be ready. I am prepare to have him sit all season if need be. His health is more important. What do you not get about that?

The Doctors are taking every percussion to make sure he and his neck are 100% until then he won't play. Next Question

Press Back to the offense are you concern about Christiansen? Is he your starter or is it time to start Jose Brown or bring back Bobby Jackson.

Coach Jones Chris is are starter enough said. Christopher is doing exactly what we are asking him to do. He not trying to win games by himself. This is a team game and we all play as a unit. Our offense is based what we feel we need to do to win the game. We are playing to our strengths not to yours....

As for Jose and Bobby both kids are working hard the all want to start. GOOD!!!! that what I want I want them fighting to start that brings out the best out of everyone.

Coach Jones Well, I have film to watch, meetings and a game against a very good Oklahoma State team to plan for, so we are done here. Y'all have a Great Day...

Press Coach, Coach, Coach one more question......
