2025 Freshmen Signing ClassDay 1UCLA football added three-star defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa to its 2025 recruiting class on Saturday, Bruin Report Online initially reported.
The name should be familiar with UCLA fans. Odighizuwa is the younger brother of former five-star Bruin defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa, who has gone on to have a very successful pro career.
Osa Odighizuwa, a 6-foot-2 Senior, was the 2024 Mt. Hood Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and an all-state defensive lineman. He is scheduled to graduate from David Douglas High School in Portland, Oregon.
Day 2he continuing ebb and flow of UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class picked back up on Monday with the verbal commitment of quarterback Austin Burton.
UCLA came around to Burton at the same time the now West Orange High School standout was connecting with Dartmouth in late June. The Big Green reached into the Winter Garden area for Burton after he tore up opposing Massachusetts competition passing for 3,299 yards with 34 scores while running for another 565 yards with six more touchdowns as a junior at Newton South (Newton).
Despite Burton’s high productivity college recruiters have been slow on the 6-2, 230, pound, talent. Before committing to the Bruins, Burton had reported offers from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Florida International, and Florida A&M.
Day 3Mater Dei All-County right guard Chris Murray (6-3, 334) committed Saturday to UCLA during an announcement at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
Murray had narrowed his college decision to UCLA, Stanford, and Notre Dame.
“It’s a place close by home,” Murray said of picking the Bruins. “I’m more of an athletic, moving lineman. I feel I can fit into Harry Jone’s offense pretty good. It just felt comfortable there.”
Day 4Zach Sweeney from St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL) committed to UCLA Football during his official visit this weekend. He is the 2nd offensive lineman in the 2025 class.
Sweeney is bringing 6’3″ and 278 lbs. to Westwood and is the 59th overall Offensive Lineman in the nation and the 7th ranked in his home state of Florida. He comes from a high school that is considered a national powerhouse and, although he only has one other offer from a Power 5 school, his experience at St. Thomas Aquinas will benefit him in the long run. He was a three-year starter and that cannot be taken lightly.
Day 5Don't let the name fool you Soso Jamobo is a talented player with a checked past. There is nothing so-so about Jamobo's skill set -- the Plano (Texas) Plano West product is already one of 2025's most coveted running back recruits, bringing together a terrifying blend of size and reported 4.55 speed in his 6'3, 215-pound frame. But only time will tell if he can outrun his past.
Day 6Lokeni Toailoa, the inside linebacker in the 2025 class, per 247Sports' composite rankings, is out to show the college football recruiting world exactly what he is capable of. With offers on the table from many of the top programs in the country, Toailoa expects to shine at the next level.
Day 7If you thought Christmas was a few weeks ago, you had it all wrong! Christmas Came Saturday!
