BRUINS PRE-TRAINING CAMP NEWS CONFERENCE Otterpop Good Morning Everyone and welcome to our first press conference of 2028. We are a couple of days away from training camp and we are excited about the players on our squad and look forward to going out there can competing for the National Championship. Today I would like to keep our focus about our incoming players though I may address other players as we move along. First question anyone?
Press Talk to us about the Bruins first day signee Wide Receiver Jared Weaver do you see him starting right away, if not why not.
Otterpop Awe yes first let me say this kid is fast. As long as I have been here the Bruins never had a guy on the outside who can just blow the top off on a defense. Jared we hope can do that for us. The kid has the hands and can also spend some time returning kicks for us. We are hoping during training camp we can see some improvement with his bump n run avoidance and route running but I see him having a successful career with the Bruins. As for starting right away I will leave that to the coaches obviously training camp will have a lot to say about that.
Press On day two the Bruins went out and signed another Wide Receiver Robert Ours. Did you consider the Wide Receiver core as a weakness? For me I thought Trayveon Williams and Sean LaChapelle showed a lot of promise.
Otterpop Oh no, we did not consider our Receiver Core as a weakness at all. We have some kids who were close to graduating and you have to plan for the future. Robert Ours was on our radar for a while and well we just could not pass him on him. Robert doesn’t have the top end speed that Jared has but he is quick off the ball and can get in/out of his routes quickly.
Press What was the bruins thought process on signing troubled offensive lineman Alfred Bivens?
Otterpop Alfred is a great kid and just needs to the right environment to thrive. He has been living in several homes and bounced around from one family member’s home to another. Yet he still gradated high school in the top 5% of his class. Now moving from New York to California will be a big adjustment but if he can adjust I see Alfred starting for the Bruins for several seasons and you never know maybe some all American honors.
Press Francisco “Frankie” Anderson signed with the Bruins on Day 4 tell us about him. Are you concern about his lack of wiliness to tackle?
Otterpop Frankie is a student athlete that we see playing a Multitude of positions for the Bruins defense. If he plays the position they he supposed to with great technique he won’t have to tackle. We will see how training camp goes for Frankie we believe he will fill a role in our defense and should be a solid contributor.
Press On day 5 the Bruins received a commitment from Defensive back Frank Parkison his 40 time was not the greatest what are the Bruins plans for him.
Otterpop First let me say you cannot measure a player’s ability by the stop watch. Was he the fastest player, no but if you watch the film of this kid while at high school you will see he was all over the field making plays. Now will he do that in a big time program well we have to wait and see but this kid has a big heart and loves to play football.
Press The Bruins signed another quarterback. Joseph Drake ran the ball a lot while playing for his high school in Michigan. Are we going to see a position change?
Otterpop Yes you are right he was a triple option quarterback in Michigan but the kid has a slightly better than average arm and a very quick pass release. Our coaches are very excited about his potential and are looking forward to working with him in camp. Will he change position, No I do not see that right now.
Press What can you say about the kid from Kentucky I believe his name was Jeffery Glover?
Otterpop Yes, Yes Jeffery Glover. We he was a big kid in his small school now he is at a big time program. We are going to see what he can do at defensive end. He is a bright kid and Hope he can turn some heads and make this squad.
Otterpop The Coaches have also signed Michael Norris from Oregon after yesterday’s try outs. The coaches really liked his ability to get after the Quarterback and his tackling skill. So he has a shot that all he asked for so he got it.
Otterpop Well everyone that is it we are a day and half from training camp and we look forward to a great one. See you all later
