For the sake of realism...in all of my team write ups I will be using the real Oklahoma coaches names instead of the fake sim ones.
Please go thumbs up the option to change coaches names in the roadmap to help with this in the future!

After the 1st 2 scrimmages Lincoln Riley likened his team to a peewee football team..
"Sometimes its like watching a peewee game...We're a very young team." said Riley " I think we only have 1 true senior on the whole team."
" Most of the offense is made up of redshirt freshmen and freshmen players...and it has shown it here in these scrimmages." "225 yds of offense in the Cal scrimmage with the kicker providing all of our scoring." "While that is good that we have a pretty good kicker, it's somewhat of a bad omen for the upcoming season... you won't win many games if you rely solely on your kicker to do all your scoring."

In game 2 Riley was still on the fence about his new club..."Man, in that 2nd game...that 1st half... I thought we were gonna get curb stomped by Iowa." "We couldn't move the ball at all and we couldn't stop them from walking up and down the field." " They scored 23 in that half and made it look easy." " QB Austin Kendall and the receivers couldn't get on the same page at all.
"Then, in the 2nd half it was like a whole different game... QB Werner Washburn came in and threw 4 TD's and almost 300 yds passing in a half!"

"We're also very young on defense, and they have played hot and cold in both these first 2 practice games. I'm pretty sure that's a depth problem and while that concerns me.. I think depth is gonna be the main concern of every coach in this league for a few seasons."

"So..I know we're playing a lot of guys right now. We've just got to decide who fits where, and where they fit the best, and then try to fill in the holes the best we can."
"These last 2 practice games will be the most important ones, where we start to fine tune the starting lineups for the regular season...hopefully without getting killed by injuries."

3rd Practice Game vs. Notre Dame L -30-20

The Sooners had an opportunity in their 3rd scrimmage for a pretty decent dress rehearsal for the regular season.
Both teams came in with 2-0 records in spring scrimmage games, and both teams left their projected starters in for a full 3 qtrs in this game. I say "projected" starters because after the game Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley made it clear that he has NOT named a starter yet at any position..

"It's wide open" said Riley "There is an opportunity at every single position on this team...all they have to do is step up and show us that they can handle that responsibility."
"I thought I was ready to name a starting QB but after tonights game, that announcement is on hold." "There is an obvious disconnect between the throwers and the catchers on this team...I'm not sure yet if it's more of a thrower problem or a catcher problem but it's definitely a concern."
"Notre Dame's DB's were the main problem tonight though... they did a good job."

The Sooners had trouble sustaining any rhythm with their passing game and their running game was hardly used even though they were having at least a little bit of success.
But, once again failing to convert 3rd downs was a problem for the Sooners as they went a paltry 2/13 and also fumbled 3 times losing 1 of those. "We've definitely got to get better on 3rd downs" said Riley. "That's pitiful"

The Sooner defense was pretty good against the run and pretty average against the pass.
Giving up 310 yds thru the air......OU DE John Page had 5 of the Sooners 8 sacks
"We wanted to put some pressure on their young QB, WinBush and he reacted very well."
"He picked up the blitz well and moved the pocket around to his advantage to buy himself some time...he's gonna be a good one." Riley said.

"We've got our work cut out for us." "I was an advocate to shorten the spring games to 2 but right now I'd go for 2 more after this one." Riley said scratching his head. "We may still be looking for a solid starting lineup 2 or 3 games into the season."
