Fall practices are done as well as both scrimmage games and it looks like all of the new signees have made the team, plus 1 walk on has made it to the 2018 OU roster.

OL Quinn Mittermeier
DB Chanse Sylvie
DL Dillon Faamatau
WR CeeDee Lamb
DL Tyreece Lott
TE Grant Calcaterra
TE Larry Rogers
QB Tanner Schafer (walk on)

The Sooners looked pretty good in the 2 scrimmage games, both against Pac-12 teams, UCLA and Cal. They played everybody on the roster in both games and got some good looks at the new talent as well as some valuable conditioning and playing time for the team as a whole.

In the 1st game against UCLA the OU offense went off on the Bruins, racking up 638 yards of offense, 528 of which came via the pass.
Freshman starting QB Austin Kendall went 11/18/(61.1%) for 256 yds and 3 TD's in his half of work and looked sharp as he earned a 121.53 passer rating.
Backup Soph QB Andrew Weir also added 217 yds passing with 2TD's, and Redshirt Fr QB Tanner Schafer was 4 for 4 and 2 Td's as well.

WR's Marquise Brown did the heavy work in the passing game with 5 rec for 123 yds and 1 TD... On the ground RB Jeff Stewart was the leading rusher with 13 carries and 70 yds.

Defensively the Sooners put UCLA on lockdown holding the vaunted Bruins offense to 280 total yds on the night.
Heisman trophy winner Robert Beall had a good night going 15/20 and 237 yds but was sacked 2 times and intercepted once by the Sooners.
Maxwell award winning RB Bobby Warfield was held to 17 yds on 6 carries.
OU's FS Mark Madrigal had 3 INT's on the night for the Sooner defense.

In game 2 against Cal it took the Sooners a while to get warmed up but once they got it rolling it was all Oklahoma as the OU offense rolled up 477 yds of offense while their defense held Cal to just 181 total yards.
backup QBAndrew Weir did the most damage in this one going 8/19 for 268 yds and 4 TD's, he was sacked 6 times however by a very good Cal defense.
Starting QB Austin Kendall who played the 1st half went 9/13 for 223 yds and 0 TD's and was sacked 4 times.

All but 53 yds of the Sooners offense was thru the air in this one and WR's and Jr WR Cyril Quiroz 2 rec/112 yds/ 2TD's and redshirt Fr WR CeeDee Lamb 4 rec/111 yds having the bulk of those yds.

Defensively the Sooners shut down the Cal running game holding them to just 14 yds on 16 carries... DT Frank Connolly forced 2 fumbles and DE's Emanuel Kiser and John Page each had 3 sacks.

So things are looking pretty good in Norman so far this season...we asked Coach Lincoln Riley what he thought about his Sooners....
"Well, I know the fans like to win the scrimmages and all that, and I do think that it helps the teams morale, but, other than that I wouldn't put a whole lot of importance on scrimmage wins." " Teams work on different things in these games...I mainly worry about getting the best 53 players on the roster....and we got a real good look at em in these 2 games, so thats a good thing" "We've still got some things to address but overall I'm pretty excited and ready to get this thing going"
