Game 8:
Back to back rivalry games.... who made this schedule?

OU, still nursing a Bedlam hangover, walks into the Red River Rivalry to face a determined and hungry Longhorn team. And the horns almost pull the upset.

Coach Lincoln Riley..." Yeah, they kinda caught us flat footed and came ready to play." I don't know how many times they blitzed but it felt like every play." " They turned the heat up for sure though, and **** near got the win." "All credit to them...they did a good job."

The first two recruits for the 2024 season are officially signed for the Oklahoma Sooners.

First up was QB Tanner Mordecai from Midway High School out of Waco Texas.
Coach Lincoln Riley was all smiles. "He's an exceptional athlete with near elite speed and a cannon arm." He's very smart and has excellent vision." "He could also play some RB as well." "We're really happy to get this kid signed."

In an effort to re enforce an aging offensive line, the second signing was Guard/Center Tyreese Robinson from Boyd High School in McKinney Texas.
Coach Riley gave us the scoop on Robinson... " He's a big dude with a mean streak...really quick for a big man." "Strong and an exceptional pass blocker, and more than adequate run blocking." "He'll start out at guard to get his weight up, but he will play some center and eventually may be a center for us down the road."

Day 3: 2024 Signing Period

The first signee on day 3 of the 2024 signing period is DE/Jack LB Ronnie Perkins from Lutheran North High School in St Louis Missouri.
Perkins is a big strong, fast kid with quick hands...he's a good tackler and pass rusher and can play the run. His coverage skills are excellent so it will be easy for him to slide out to jack LB in a 3-4 defense. The ceiling is high with this one.
Big Poppa liked the signing... "He ain't perfect".... "But he ain't bad."

Sooners end the 3rd signing day with RB Kennedy Brooks out of Mansfield High School in Mansfield Texas.
Brooks has great speed and strength with above average quickness and excellent ball carrying skills.
His only question mark is ball security. Hopefully the coaches can get that cleaned up with a good training camp... He also has good enough hands to be a threat coming out of the backfield.......Another good athlete with tremendous upside.

Day 4: 2024 Signing Period

On the last day of the signing period the Sooners kick it off with a big physical nose tackle...signing DT/NT Du'Vonta Lampkin from Cypress Falls High School in Houston Texas.

He's already impressed OU GM Big Poppa.... "He's one of them big ol country strong kids."
"He can pick up the back end of a truck and hold it up long enough to change a flat tire...I **** you not."
"If we can keep his big *** outta jail, he'll be fun to watch out there on Saturdays."
