Game 6

Notre Dame-26, Arkansas-10

Game Summary: It was a solid game for the Irish despite settling for fgs pretty often throughout. Four fumbles really hurt the offensive output and allowed the score to be closer than the game should have been. The defense was pretty dominant for the second week in a row only allowing one td on a busted coverage 84 yard pass. Besides the one bad play they were in control of the Razorbacks offense all day. Defensive End Dalton Hayes was unblockable today getting to the quarterback 6 times and earning defensive player of the week.

Off Player of the game-____WR Quincy Brown (9 rec, 197 yards, 1 TD)

Def Player of the game-____DE Dalton Hayes (6 tckl, 6 Hurries, 6 Sacks)

Game 7

Notre Dame-38, Alabama-26

Game Summary: It was an shootout between the Crimson Tide and the Irish. Notre Dame proved to be more balanced and lethal as they outlasted a very game Alabama team. Freshman QB Brandon Wimbush threw for 5 TD's and 366 yards finding his second favorite WR Chase Claypool all day. Claypool put up a ridiculous 10 catches and 259 yards while hauling in 4 TD's. Both RB's Josh Adams and Dexter Williams rushed for over 100 yards. The defense was dealing with a few key starters out from injury and it really showed as the Bama offense was carving up them up. The run d was stout and only masked the problems that the unit is going through. The kicking game continues to be a flip of the coin as Justin Yoon is still having a hard time with consistency.

Off Player of the game-____WR Chase Claypool (10 rec, 259 yards, 4 TD)

Def Player of the game-____DT Jonathan Bonner (2 tckl, 1 Hurries, 2 Sacks)

Game 8

Notre Dame-16, Rutgers-9

Game Summary: The Irish have had mixed success against blitz defenses so far this season and this game was definitely one they will want to forget. QB Brandon Wimbush struggled mightily to find open receivers despite having guys running open. The run game was solid putting up 189 yards and slowed the game's pace down considerably. The defense was the saving grace in this one picking off 5 passes and limiting the Scarlet Knights to only 7 points. The ups and downs of a young team have proven stressful to the Irish staff as they can only hope the team will start to show signs of turning the corner. The bright side is Notre Dame got the W and move to 7-1. They keep pace to achieve their goal of making it to a bowl game. Up next the Irish will play another blitz team in Arizona St. and hopefully get the offense back on track.

Off Player of the game-____RB Dexter Williams (11 Rushes, 84Yards, 1 TD)

Def Player of the game-____CB Julian Love (6 tckl, 14 ThrnAt, 1 KnkDn, 42.9 Alld %, 2 Ints)

Game 9

Notre Dame-60, Arizona St.-14

Game Summary: It was a complete 180 performance for the Irish offense this week. QB Brandon Wimbush was picking the Sun Devil defense apart to the tune of 637 yards and 6 TD's. Four Notre Dame players went over the century mark in receiving yards including a stellar performance by heisman candidate Quincy Brown who topped the 200 yard mark. The offensive star of the day was runningback Josh Adams. He rushed for over 100 yards and recieved over a 100 yards. His 4 touchdowns were a catalist to the stellar day for the Golden Domers. The defense was solid for most of the night take away two long catch and runs. it was a performance the team really needed to get their confidence back as they head to the second half of the season.

Off Player of the game-____RB Josh Adams (20 Rushes, 146 Yards, 1 TD, 6 Rec, 131 Rec Yards, 3 Rec TD )

Def Player of the game-____MLB Myles Morgan (12 tckl, 3 Hurries, 4 Sacks)

Game 10

Notre Dame-62, Oregon-7

Game Summary: Notre Dame's offense continued their onslaught from their prior game as they welcomed Oregon to South Bend. QB Brandon Wimbush has 10 TD's and only 2 interceptions in the last two games as he is proving to be one of the best young talents in the nation when he's on his game. RB Josh Adams has been nursing a knee injury but he's been on a terror in the run game as well as in the pass game. Tight End Brock Wright had a career day just missing the 200 yard mark and scoring his first TD. The defense was stellar limiting the Ducks to 236 total yards. The secondary picked off Leslie Jacques 3 times and sacked him 6 times. Freshman first round pick Julian Love hauled in his 7th interception of the season. Up next is round two of the bitter rivalry with Army. After completely, and utterly destroying them the last time at home, the staff is expecting a much more competitive game in the rematch.

Off Player of the game-____TE Brock Wright (7 rec, 197 yards, 1 TD)

Def Player of the game-____DT Jerry Tillery (4 tckl, 4 Hurries, 4 Sacks)

Game 11

Notre Dame-16, Army-19

Game Summary: Once again it was the Irish offense that couldn't muster up an effort worthy of winning. Despite a solid defensive effort with 5 forced turnovers the mixture of bad special teams and inept offense held back the #5 team in the nation. Wimbush was awful, the run game was stagnant and still the Irish had the ball down by three in the waning moments of the game. It's a reflection of youth and a bad game plan but with a 9-2 record Notre Dame still have a solid shot at making a bowl game in their first season.

Game 12

Notre Dame-19, Navy-0

Game Summary: A week removed from a disgusting offensive performance the Irish offense continued their struggle. The run game was nullified by the tough Navy defense. The passing game had some moments but couldn't keep their QB off the turf. Luckily for Notre Dame their defense was dominant. Holding the Midshipmen to just 136 total yards and causing star QB James Sherwood to throw 4 interceptions. They added two fumble recoveries and a TD to boot. In the last two games the Irish defense has caused 11 turnovers and the offense has only put 25 points. It's a huge win against a divisional rival on top of seeing both Marshall and Army go down. For the first time all year the Irish sit atop the mountaintop in the Independent Division. Next up is winless Stanford who narrowly beat Cal in their last game.

Off Player of the game-____WR Chase Claypool (4 rec, 82 yards, 1 TD)

Def Player of the game-____DE Dalton Hayes (5 tckl, 3 Hurries, 4 Sacks)

Game 13

Notre Dame-45, Stanford-3

Game Summary: After a couple lackluster performances by the Irish offense they were able to right the ship against winless Stanford. There was nice balance as QB Brandon WImbush threw for over 300 yards and 3 TD's without throwing an interception. RB's Josh Adams and Eric Hoyer were able to eclipse the 100 yard mark giving Notre Dame 243 yards on the ground. The NCAA's leader receiver Quincy Brown was back to his old ways piling up 11 pass receptions for 197 yards. The defense continues to be the rock for this team allowing only a late fg on the heels of a shutout last week. DE Andrew Trumbley was all over the Cardinal QB totaling 4 sacks. As a team the Irish only allowed 120 total yards. The gauntlet of games that will decide the conference begins next week as Notre Dame travels to the Pacific Northwest to take on a tough Washington Husky team. The Irish have officially secured their first bowl appearance.

Off Player of the game-____RB Eric Hoyer (10 Rushes, 113 Yards, 3 TD)

Def Player of the game-____DE Andrew Trumbley (5 Tckl, 4 Hurries, 4 Sacks, 1 KnckDown, 1 FF, 1 FRec)

Game 14

Notre Dame-34, Washington-17

Game Summary: In one of the biggest road tests of the season the Irish traveled to the Pacific Northwest to take on #11 Washington. The offense was productive and showed good balance against a tough defense. Freshman QB Brandon WImbush threw for 4 TD's without turning it over and RB Josh Adams rushed for 128 yards to pace Notre Dame's attack. Despite the offensive production the team is still looking to be more consistent and methodical. The defense was dominant for most the game and really put the clamps on the Huskie offense. It wasnt' til late in the game that they started to see some points against. Overall it was a very good day and serves as a good precursor to the game the Irish have to win against division opponent Marshall, next week.

Off Player of the game-____QB Brandon Wimbush (19/39, 344 yards, 4 TD, 0 Int, 113.6 Rtg)

Def Player of the game-____DE Dalton Hayes (2 tckl, 4 Hurries, 2 Sacks)

Game 15

Notre Dame-41, Marshall-9

Game Summary: The Fighting Irish welcomed division rival Marshall to South Bend in a good ol' fashioned fist fight. Winner takes the Conference title. It was a tough first half for the Irish team but they turned it on in the second. While he had a stinker against the Herd last time, QB Brandon Wimbush was stellar in the rematch. His 345 yards and 4 TD's were the difference for Notre Dame. The offense was balanced once again gaining 212 yards on the ground. NCAA leading receiver Quincy Brown really dominated the Herd secondary catching 3 TD's and 220 yards. On defense the Irish continued to be stingy only allowing the high powered Marshall offense to score three field goals. Freshman Julian Love is having a monster season as he pick 2 of QB Larry Rickett's passes off to give him 10 on the season. He currently is tied with Tennessee's Bill Wu for the NCAA lead interceptions.

Off Player of the game-____WR Quincy Brown (9 rec, 220 yards, 3 TD)

Def Player of the game-____CB Julian Love (5 tckl, 13 ThrownAt, 2 KnockDowns, 23.1 All%, 2 Int)
